I like Trey! Always had hoped he found his way to the Halos back in 2021 after he came back from his illness. I thought that Astros made a good mid-season acquisition but Trey did not capitalize, possibly due to consistent playing time. Odds are against him regaining his 2019 prowess but don’t mind if he makes the club. Angels really don’t have good depth at 1st and trey can play a corner OF spot in a pinch. I recognize we have a gazillion corner guys.
Nice! Had the pleasure of seeing Trey in the HRD and ASG. Glad he touched on how he found out he had colon cancer (bloodwork/iron low going into ST). Reminds me it’s about time to poop in a box and get some bloodwork done myself.
Hey Jeff, great interview, really well done. I’m definitely rooting for Trey to have a great season with the Halos!
I notice on your bio you are a graduate of Cal State Bakersfield, as am I. I received my bachelor and masters from there. I was exclusively a night student. May I ask what years you were there?
Go Roadrunners!
I attended CSUB from 1996-1998 but did not graduate. I was an editor of The Runner but mostly covered music and film there. I ventured into sports writing when we started a women’s soccer team, which scored me a lot of points with the young ladies on the team.
One last Cal State Bako item, my wife received her MBA there in 1998, she was business student of the year, well one of them. Good job that you started the women’s soccer’s team. I remember when that started.
Remember, our wrestling and basketball teams were dominant back then. Those beats were highly coveted so I had to find a way in.
I figured there would be more interest in a brand new team than in sports like swimming and softball even though those teams were really good as well.
I was probably the worst soccer reporter ever as I know very little about the game, but I did interviews with many of the players. They got a kick out of it, I got some experience, and made some friends.

Thanks Jeff!
Great job! I enjoyed it and will be rooting for him! Keep up the great work!
Thank you.
Good job Jeff!
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing the interview. I’m now a big Trey Mancini guy.
Thank you.
Floating Head – wooooooooo…
Otherwise great interview. Might have nightmares of that floating head haunting me 😂
Will invest in a better setup soon.
Trey’s engagement and personality made this a compelling interview! Looks like I’ll be rooting for him to beat out Peraza for the last bench spot

I finished my masters in 1995. I lived in Bakersfield a long time until I left Cali five years ago. Went to Foothill High and Bakersfield College.
Awesome. I went to BC for a while too.
Graduated from Wasco High School. Nobody knows where Wasco is unless they went to prison so I say I grew up by Bakersfield.
I absolutely know where Wasco is, my sister in law lived there for several years, her husband was a part time wrestling coach at Wasco High.

Great interview. Trey is going to be an easy guy to root for.
Hell yeah! Go Jeff!
