About that 2-0 pitch to Neto which was a foot off the plate:
deGrom and other pitchers know the Angels are guess hitters. 2-0? They are swinging. Why throw a strike? Neto tried to check his swing but failed.
I agree, although they have been doing surprisingly well on a good number of them.
Neto is also 1-2 with a homer and walk thus far. The other guys get paid too and DeGrom is pretty damn good.
Angels doing a great job of raising the pitching for deGrom: 88 in 5 innings so far
DeGrom does not look sharp. O’Hoppe had a chance to blow the game open but he had another terrible AB and let him off easily.

I see Trout got a much needed day off.
Hopefully more than one day.
I think they should let him take the rest of the year off. Maybe he can reset next year.

I like to see Trout take rest of August off, return in September.
My guess is he needs to see an optometrist or rest his knee. If it’s his knee, he should be done for the year. If it’s an eyesight problem, he can go to Costco tomorrow and get an appointment.

He does cost about 36 million a year less.
Trout’s K’s are definitely more costly.
Trout, Rendone and Soler cost so much money and produce nothing.
