The Tigers got some base runners right off the bat, but Silent C was able to work out of the trouble without giving up a run. Luis Rengifo struck out with the bases loaded to end the first inning. Each pitcher had hit a batter but nobody was injured.
A couple of Tigers walked to lead off the second inning and Spencer Torkelson made it to third on a force out play. A single then drove in a run. 1-0 Tigers. Kerry Carpenter doubled on what might have been a homer if Adell hadn’t got his glove in the way. still, they scored two. 3-0 Tigers. The Angels went down in order with a pair of strikeouts.
Spencer Torkelson singled in the third inning and Colt Keith homered to make it 5-0 Tigers. The Angels were retired in order once again.
Nothing much happened in the middle innings. Taylor Ward got a hustle double to end his hitless streak. He became a LOBster at third base.
In the top of the sixth inning, Javy Baez and Tomas Nido singled to put two men on for Kerry Carpenter who homered to make it 8-0 Tigers.
In the top of the seventh inning, Colt Keith walked and Javy Baez got hit by a pitch again. Then Trey Sweeney homered. 11-0 Tigers. In the bottom of the seventh, Kyren Paris walked and Zach Neto doubled to make it 11-1 Tigers.
Touki Toussaint came in and had a clean top of the eighth inning. The Angels also failed to score.
Touki Toussaint struck out Spencer Torkelson. Then Colt Keith singled. Javy Baez doubled. Trey Sweeney singled to make it 13-1 Tigers. Ahem! Kerry Carpenter singled and Andy Ibanez walked to load the bases. Luckily Jace Jung grounded out to first to end the inning. Jo Adell and Kyren Paris struck out. Tim Anderson got a two out hit. Zach Neto flied out to center. The Angels lots 13-1.
