Crazy thing on Miz and why when he has his fastball working he is so tough. That extra foot of reach calculates out to an extra 2 mph. So that 105.5 feels like 107.5. If it’s up and in – effective velocity would have that feel more be like 112 to 114. But wait, there’s more. Add in his 99th percentile spin rate – and you get another 2 to 3 mph. So in essence – 114 to 117mph. Granted they have seen 100 mph up and in – but his EV multipliers are crazy and that’s why players say they’ve never seen anything like it.

In today’s opening day AFL lineup, Angels fans get the trifecta. Arjun Nimmala at short, hitting second. Jake Munroe at 3B, hitting third. Ryland Zaborowski at 1B, hitting seventh.
Nice to see some independent corroboration that Munroe is viewed by other coaches as a potential middle of the order difference-maker. We’ll see how he performs after a long full season this year.
