Here we go with another full day of exciting non-Angels baseball.
Wild Card Day 2 Gamethread
Loved seeing the TrashHoles eliminated at home.
Re: Chowds vs. YankMees: trite, but I’ll say it anyway: it’s a shame both teams couldn’t lose. But my gawd, Bahstun: way to not show up in the postseason. Getting outscored 18-2 over 2 games is not exactly a good look.
PHI@ATL have been really good games. What team do I want to win it tomorrow? Doesn’t really matter: do either have a chance against the Doyers? Don’t answer that…
Sports games, any league but especially MLB who use streaming to bring their games to the fans suck and I hope congress puts a stop to this shit. I am aware that money talks and we are talking about billionaires here, but really the ratings may or will go down in the long run imho. I very seldom in my life dislike people with using the word hate, but Manfraud is working his way up the list fast as he continually shows how much he hates baseball and MLB. (I am aware that an MLB attendance record was set in the 2026 season.)
- Agreeing with Selig the slime ball to look the other way on steroids and lying to the fans about the subject of how it was changing the game and how widespread it’s use was.
- Ghost runners added to extra innings and ignoring the games history or not even a compromise of waiting until the 12th inning.
- Enlarging second base so there would/could make it easier to steal. after Cobb and Collins and others stealing bases slowed down then Maury Wills showed up and for 40 years stealing evolved and then started to slow down because no one wanted to be injured or wasn’t taught to steal. it would have returned to be common on it’s own.
- Purchasing Rawlings Sporting goods and cutting ties to Wilson to provide baseballs to MiLB & MLB at at an increased price.
- Eliminating over 30 baseball teams or more than one per team eliminating future fans from seeing live games.
- Pushing for MLB looking more and more like the NFL in slowly changing from 2 different leagues with their own identity to it being one league -MLB- and not even thanking the NFL. 🙄
- Not only not putting a stop to lowlife Bud Selig from going into the Hall of Fame to waving and allowing no waiting period for the slimeball to be enshrined after allowing PEDS to tarnish the game.
- Tying into the Gambling World for more income at the same time not allowing Pete Rose to be enshrined into the HOF.
- Adding a pitch clock to the game instead of enforcing old and added new rules for the umpires to move the game along.
- He is a lawyer and union negotiator and could make a deal with the weak umpire’s union to facilitate a avenue to be rid of bad umpires.
- Adding 2 teams to MLB when there is not enough talent currently to fill all teams just so they can put Billions of dollars more into the pockets of those who need it the least. Just what locales are going to support MLB teams better than Oakland/Tampa Bay St. Pete/Miami, KC?
- While cable TV and local TV and radio deals went south the greed moved on to streaming adding additional cost to millions that can’t afford the additional expense. For many can afford the additional cost there is many who do not want to spend more just to watch a long game that is really boring to them. Even ESPN/TNT/ and the other cable channels including MLBTV are added cost than just receiving games over the air.
- Adding the infield shift rules instead of teaching players how to hit to all fields.
The owners do not want revenue sharing to even out the playing field like their big brother the NFL, they think the players should have a cap to help them control their own spending when they are paying 4 billion dollars a team with no long-term stadium deal. The owners feel justified in asking taxpayers to participate financially in building stadiums or stadium upgrades. Manfraud id the owner’s commissioner, not the game of baseball, not the player’s nor the fan’s commissioner, but those with the money and power to change the game into a bigger cash cow. Manfred is a fraud no 2 ways about it.
Want more hitting? Lower the mound, teach the yuts to hit the other way. Spend out retired players to give hitting clinics too as many leagues as possible for coaches and players as you can, MLB can afford it.
While I may not disagree with all changes listed, I have issues with what may have been other way to address the problems.
Just turned over to the Chi-Hou game- one out in the top of the first and it’s already Sox up 4-0. Kick some orange butt!!!!!
