From time to time I think of the HH glory days and often end at the same question: What happened to Suboptimal? 44Fan? Rghan?

Suboptimal, I remember as someone my teenage self viewed as a talented writer and master of analysis. Truth be told, I don’t remember anything specific he wrote, just the memory of the respect I had for his contributions.

There was also a site contributor (author/editor?) whose name escapes me, but he often wrote about the Halos’ farm in a very hopeful (dare I say too hopeful) way. I remember he’d often end a player’s write-up with something like, “and he’s only going to get better!” — which I quietly found funny because he’d use that phrase for so many farmhands. But we know that the opposite is true: most of them will absolutely not “only get better” lol. But hey, I appreciated the well-meaning-ness and enthusiasm.

I mean, shoot, I remember once advocating for trading Trumbo for both deGrom and Syndergaard (before they broke out in the bigs).

I also once posted a slash line I thought Trumbo could achieve in the big leagues. I said something like .250/.310/.550 or something like that, only for TurksTeeth to point out the ridiculous .300 ISO in that scenario. Got eeeem. Ahh well, we learn.

Anywho… back to some of the peeps:

rghan — our prospect guru of the time.

5th starter — appeared one day, burned bright, and then was gone. If I recall correctly, he was an advocate for trading Trout way back when. Blasphemous at the time. Also a huge Dan Haren fan.

The poster from Wisconsin(?) — I know someone here remembers who I’m talking about. Is he the one who made the comics? I miss those.

I know we’ve had some people pass (RIP) or simply move on, but I sometimes wonder where some of those HH ghosts are today.

Any other names you guys remember who haven’t been heard from in a while?
