Like yesterday’s draft article sketched, I’m not fixated on any single player in round one. My general thoughts:
Tyler Bell and Zion Rose are “fun” “exciting” picks – both would be enjoyable to follow.
Ace Reese and AJ Gracia seem like solid, rational picks with high floors – the Angels don’t have these profiles in the system.
Gio Rojas, Trevor Condon and Carson Bolemon are all intriguing prep selections.
Hunter Dietz is my favorite among the college arms, but I can see the reasoning behind Flukey or Reddemann at a discount. I worry that the Angels don’t have the system to fix Liam Peterson, but the skills are those of a frontline guy.

Nothing can be worse than the Angels draft when they had a high pick and didn’t draft a kid that pitched just down the street and was the son of a team legend so that they could pick this rail thin kid that told everyone that would listen he was going on a 2 year mormon mission. So regardless of who the Angels pick or don’t pick today, it is better than that.

TBW was initially Peterson, no? Kind of same difference – Flukey and Peterson were both the top arms prior to the college season, so it’d be pick on skills and stuff over recent performance. (Basically like the Bremner pick.)

Sounds like there is a mock out there who just might be correct. I don’t think any of those guys are more than FV 45. Just not a slam dunk this year to me. Go upside and grab a projectable arm.

MLB had one mock that showed Jacob Lombard lasting to the mid-teens. Of all the outrageous, pachinko-ball scenarios I’ve read, that’s the one I want, and I want the Halos to jump on it.
But short of that: Ball sounds nice, Condon would be nice, Reese would give us an immediate power prospect, which would be nice.

Yeah. I think this draft will neither wow us or upset us.
Any of Dietz, Flukey, or Peterson are reasonable arms.
The bats you listed plus Curiel and the A&M kid are reasonable arms
