Ortiz and Clase indicted for taking brides. They are pitchers for the Guardians (Indians) and again show that sports are not in better shape with gambling partners. If 100+ sports franchise owners are making money from sports gaming tie-ins, is that enough in entrust these men who the future of professional sports being honest. Cheating is only going to get worse as I have pointed out for a couple of years now as it is to easy to bride others with the promise of cash, presents, trips, etc.
Manfraud showed exactly many others. Selig showed what he thought of cheating when tolled to take care of Steroid cheaters, he did nothing really. what he thought of cheating when handling the Astros. They were not the only teams cheating either. Red Sox, Yankees, and more than likely were involved. Selig did nothing really about steroids and then was after retirement fast tracked to the Hall of Fame.
NBA has same gaming issues, and the NFL will be next. Will fans still trust games as much down the road, my “bet” is I don’t believe so.
That M***** F****** prop bets!
Who in their right mind would ever think that they are a good thing?
MLB, the NFL and the NBA should outlaw prop bets, BUT they won’t…..
I’m just curious, how could “MLB, the NFL and the NBA outlaw prop bets”?
They don’t control the books. They certainly don’t own them. The books don’t need their permission to take bets, set odds, etc. And they certainly don’t make the rules at any place I have been to.
It wouldn’t shock me if the Angels tried to sign the Japanese HR hitter using some type of creative deal with low money early and increasing later. He fits in terms of position, I think we all understand Rendon isn’t coming back, and he can help with marketing in the overseas areas etc. Hence, even if there is a tight $24 million available in budget, I could see Arte finding a way around that for a specific player. Otherwise, things are bleak.
I feel like alot more Japanese players have been coming here more frequently since ohtani came
Raudi took the MVP award in the AFL Fall Stars Game last night
“He got the scoring started in the second inning by smoking an 86-mph slider from Jack Dallas (Phillies) for an RBI single at 111 mph, the third-hardest hit ball of the game. He topped that in the seventh inning with a 112-mph single off a 96-mph fastball from Carson Montgomery (Padres) in the seventh.”
“All told, Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, plating another run with a bases-loaded walk in the fifth.”

Caught Raudi Rodriguez’s at bats last night at AZ all star game. Great patience and discipline for a young player. Hope our culture doesn’t ruin this as he moves forward.
Clase has a salary of $4M per year + any endorsements, and he’s going to risk it all for $5K?
These two moron pitchers playing footsy with gamblers ruined their extremely prosperous careers for mere trinkets. They probably won’t be the last to do so. There will likely, imo, be situations where athletes are blackmailed into shaving points, having an intentionally bad game or fake an injury. Something like: “you going to pitch a very bad game next Tuesday, dude, and your wife won’t know about your honeypot on the side.”
The fact that Chase isn’t in custody yet either means he has lawyered up and will surrender this week or he is in Trinidad or the Dominican Republic. These two are both in big trouble for doing a very idiotic thing.
OT there’s a show on Hulu called Fugitive Hunters about a crew of police in Mexico who hunt down Americans on the run.
Pretty fun watch but what is amazing is how many dudes stop in Tijuana or Mexicali. They get about 5 feet past the wall and chill.
