Here are pics from tonight.

Besides TGA and DJ, following these DR kids to next levels will be fun. They demolished the three teams in a row. Giants were best team in ACL in 2025 and Argenis Camara was their best P.

Shores is 6’8″.

Not a lot of guys that tall in the league who can pull off league average command, but we shall see.

Jordan had a tough assignment tonight – three of BA’s top ten ACL prospects are on the Giants, including #1 (Level, the guy who took him deep) and Cayama, the night’s starter.

Solid showings from Alvarez and Alfonso, and nice to see Ramirez lay into one. Alfonso’s a bit old for the level, and he has no power to speak of, but you can almost see a utility piece if you squint a bit.

The YouTube stream view was pretty distant so idk how much I could really decipher. Jordan’s velo was solid thruout and I thought his slider had nice break to it.

Appreciate the note on Alfonso because I haven’t followed him one bit. Alvarez seems like the major breakout player in the farm this year.

Jordan’s slider is definitely his calling card.

Alvarez is interesting, but I hesitate to call it a breakout until we see if the strength gains play in full season ball and against better velocity. Angels personnel are excited about him, but reads on the exit velocity have been inconsistent – the scouting community hasn’t totally bought into the power gains yet. But his defense has improved, and the speed is holding as he fills out, which is good sign.

I think it’s just important to acknowledge league context – there are a lot of video game numbers in the ACL. As good as the rate stats look, none of Alvarez’s avg, OBP, ops are top ten in the league (he’s #33 in OPS, for instance, and #18 in OBP as the leadoff man in a 15 team league). That’s not the primary way to evaluate 18 year olds in the complete leagues, but it does give you some additional information as to why he’s not a top 20 guy on most Angels rankings yet.

my memory could be off but I think Perry’s MO is to wait until the day of the deadline so probably no deal/s until Thursday…maybe.

My memory could be off too… several over his reign were announced after the deadline passed, obviously a last minute finalization.

I wi see if that’s due to Perry or the fact he only trades rentals with little value that aren’t big priorities fir other teams.

I know it’s way easier said than done, but Perry needs to pull some magic out of his beaver beak and get us a couple position player prospects in trade the next few days.

For a non-prospect that is pretty prospectivey.

I am curious why seemingly ALL of our prospects got off to such a crap start on the farm this year. Some seem to be climbing out of it. But man, it was a bleak 1st 3 months….

He should be killing it though. He’s pretty long in the tooth for low-A. Talent level at low A is closer to rookie ball post-milb contraction.

It’s a fairly big jump between low and high A now. Why we’ve been seeing Vargas get hit around since his promotion.

I’d like to know how much he’s using the change, and how he’s commanding it. Only a week ago BA was still profiling him as a leverage reliever because the change wasnt that developed, and he’s largely a two pitch guy blowing away rookie hitters with the heat.

Silent C starting tomorrow vs. deGrom. That should be the final nail in the coffin that allows Perry to sell.

Trade TA for a 35 FV prospect and give Victor Mederos 10 starts.

Mederos today in AAA:
7 innings
1 ER
6 hits
2 walks
5 strikeouts

Who would have thought that between Kikuchi, Sori, Anderson and Hendricks, that the Professor would be the one to give Jrod an 0-fer?!

I’ve ragged on him quite a bit lately, but congrats to Mike on 1000 RBIs. For sure he’s been hearing the chatter that he’s washed, and I would think that doesn’t make him feel good. So reaching some milestones must make him feel better.

He didn’t look washed on that 2-run jack to Center-RF.

Nor that single in the 8th after being down 0-2 in the count.

Trouty is still really good. There’s no credible argument to be made that he’s washed.

I’ve been frustrated with his Ks since the AS break, but I don’t believe he’s washed. He’s still a really good player.

When all is said and done, I hope he holds all the Angels offensive records – a fitting tribute to the one who wanted to be an Angel for life.
