Not sure about you guys, Jansen’s pitches look hittable every outing. I’m guessing it is all about the cutter and moves slightly to avoid the barrel but sure look meaty to me.
Yes, that is exactly what it is. The velo is not great but that little movement at the end makes it hard to get clean contact..
He’s a junk baller closer, weird combo, but it’s probably why he has so much longevity and can pitch multiple days in a row.
If you ever get the chance to sit in left field pavilion and listen to Jansen warm up you will get it. His pitches have late life through the zone and he throws a super heavy ball. Sounds like a wet towel hitting the mit. Thats why he’s still pretty effective.
