Angels Swept by Blue Jays AGAIN

The Angels say bye to Canada today for real. With Tyler Anderson on the mound, there was a chance to not be swept. He went 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, striking out 3 and walking 4. Not the best, which meant a long climb for this sorry excuse of an offense.

Decent on a team of BLEH

At least this game was watchable, as there wasn’t a no no going for long this time, as the offense had the life of a dying bee rather than a squashed ant. A whole 2 hits in the first 5 innings, how exciting. The Angels still lost though. Pretty badly too.

Highlighted Recap

The Blue Jays scored first. Again. Third inning this time.

1-0 Jays

But Neto responded with a run of his own. Not shut out!

Tied game!

Too bad the Jays scored again in the 5th.

2-1 Jays

And 2 more in the 6th, because oof.

4-1 Jays

And another 2 run shot in the 7th.

6-1 Jays

But hey, we got an MLB debut to watch. So that was nice.

I was too lazy to edit the screenshot

And Drury hit a home run.

6-2 Jays

Aaaaaaaaaand the Jays get it right back in the 8th.

7-2 Jays

Make that 2

8-2 Jays

Angels lose, not only getting swept, but getting Season Swept for the first time ever by the Blue Jays. This may be the worst team in Angels history.

Upcoming

No game tomorrow, but then the Angels head to nearby Detroit for 3 starting Tuesday. Almost at the end of August and that 100 loss season is dangerously plausible. Drink up.

So, we keep tradeable players because no other team would trade their better prospects for our injured, can’t hit, problem pitching players. smh, I missed the fact they will be worth more this coming off season. Now I get it! 😬

I’m only disappointed Drury hit a homer. Not because it’ll mean Washington will continue to play his worthless ass, I’m hoping he’s an everyday player from here on out, but because it hurts his drive to get his BA below 100.

I hope Wash is playing 5D chess and is doing this to embarrass Art and Perry about what dumpsters they choose to dive next season.

What happened to that glimpse of a fun team we had a few weeks ago.

“The Rays have the #1 farm in baseball. The AA Montgomery Biscuits are their best club, leading their division 69-50. 4 of the Rays’ top 5 prospects are on the team (3 are top 100 guys).

Caden Dana is slicing thru them like butter, 1 unearned run thru 6. Not much left to prove”

Long way from slicing up MLB hitters. Angels need to be cautious with the 20-year old. His stuff is not lights out, Don’t want him to throw beyond his means trying to impress. Likely he gets smacked around. . Angels are 18.5 games out of a wild card spot. Let him finish the year in AA and see if he can repeat at AA. But I realize Perry’s ego is involved so you might get your wish.

Just finished watching a great 90-min MLB special on Greg Maddox. Came up at 20 years old and he really knew how to pitch. Maybe worth a shot to see what he has got.

Was the Spring Training clip of Maddox pitching against the CA Angels filmed at Hohokam or Palm Springs? Was that Devon White he struck out?

LOL, a lot of pitchers struck out Devon White in his career.

Looking upside down at the standings I see we are clinging to first place over the A’s. Just got to stay the current trend for first place glory and I love our chances!

Angels, L5. Only the White Sox approach us, with a 3 game losing streak. Oh, and the Red Sux.

I was just looking at the standings and thinking the same exact thing. We got the A’s right where we want em. 👍🏻

Ran into an A’s fan at the post office this week. He had one of those bright yellow caps with the awful green lettering on it. I had an Angel tee shirt on and said to him, “See you in October…we’re duking it out for last place.” You should have seen the look of true suffering on his face. With their rich history those fans don’t like losing one bit.

And they go quietly into the afternoon Toronto sun, headed to Detroit, where they can disappoint again, headed to ping pong ball glory!

Again?

Wasn’t this the first time ever either team has swept the other in the history of the two playing each other?

Perry got extended, Wash ain’t going anywhere, so the season has to get a passing grade?

Fansince1971

Isn’t “C” considered what is “expected”. If so, I would say this season was a “C” since they won 73 two years in a row with Ohtani, lost him and basically did not replace him. So what we are seeing is the expectation for this season basically being met.

Different questions are the grades you would give ownership, the Organization, the GM and the field manager. I’d give “F”, “D-“, “C+” and “C+” respectively for that question.
