The Angels placed Jose Soriano on the injured list with arm fatigue and activated Jose Cisnero over the weekend. Cisnero had a little bit of a rough seventh inning on Saturday with a hit by pitch followed by a four pitch walk. Then he got designated for assignment. Let’s see how Victor Murderous can do. The Angels also outrighted Willie Calhoun. We will see whether he accepts the assignment. The Mets activated Starling Marte from the injured list and designated Ben Gamel for assignment in the corresponding move. The Reds placed Hunter Greene on the 15 day IL due to right elbow soreness. They don’t think it is a big deal. Christian Yelich will undergo season ending back surgery.
It appears that the White Sox are mathematically eliminated from the post season. At least we won’t have to face those guys in the ALCS. You can all get a good night’s sleep now.
