Jack Kochanowicz came in to pitch against Charlie Morton today. He walked Michael Harris II. A hit by pitch and double play later, Matt Olson singled to score Michael Harris II. 1-0 Braves. When the Angels came up Ward struck out, Neto struck out looking, and Nolan Schanuel struck out. Trifecta.
Ramon Laureano homered in the top of the fourth inning to make it 2-0 Braves.
Brandon Drury got a line drive single to center in the fifth inning to provide something resembling offense. Matt Thaiss then walked. Jo Adell hit a flare to right to load the bases for Mickey Moniak. Moniak was hit by pitch to make it 2-1 Braves.
Michael Stefanic popped out and Taylor Ward hit into a double play.
Jose Quijada got in an inning of work for no hits and two strikeouts in the seventh. Roansy Contreras was giving up free bases. He gave up a double, an IBB, and a hit by pitch to load the bases in the eighth inning with no outs. Jarred Kelenic hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 Braves.
Newcomer Brock Burke came in to pitch the ninth inning. He got a couple of strikeouts and there was no further scoring.
Raisel Iglesias came in to pitch for the Braves. He retired the Angels in order. The Braves won this game 3-1.
At least the Angels defense turned several double plays.

….well, there was that….
I seriously left town and drove 6+ hours to Oakland to watch battle of the bay. Very entertaining with pretty even number of A’s and SF fans. Note the A’s fans don’t get pushed over by more popular Giants crowd; unlike how we let ‘big blue’ take over our stadium. Wanted to visit coliseum before they closed it. The A’s don’t have any stars but they sure play better team baseball then us, guess that’s why we are in last. Bummer
So the Angels received Chavez and Davidson in the trade for Raisel. Neither of those guys are with the Angels anymore. So remind me – was it a salary dump type deal?
Seriously ?
Chasm of sar
Well ……… that was underwhelming. I wish they would have at least whelmed me.
I giggled. 🙂
There’s no need to fear Johnny Cueto will now be Johnny Angel.

14 Strikeouts today. 15 yesterday . No sure our offense is evolving
Was it 43 or 44 over the 3 games?

Well, here we are, the most below .500 we’ve been this season. In that all important race for 4th place in the AL West we’re still tied with Sacramento.
One of my oldie but goodys.
Wish we had a closer like D-Cell
That would be a waste at this point. Glad he is thriving on a team that could use him to win a Championship.
By now you know my opinion on relievers and bullpens.
I’ll take the 1971 Oriole’s starters over the 1990 Red’s Nasty Boys bullpen any day
Where is the picture of the ‘71 Oriole starter that looks like Moe Szyslak?
Welp considering that 3 out of the 4 vaunted Oriole starters are dead I’ll take the Nasty Boys every time now.
Also the 1990 Nasty Boys and their team Won the World Series while 1971 Orioles did not. And isn’t that the whole point of playing?
Na na na na na na na na Hey Hey GOODBYE 🙋
