Bounce Back 6-5 Win

Today’s game by the Angels was either one in which they bounce back or else they don’t. They brought it right down to the line frankly.

They were losing at 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Logan O’Hoppe homered to make it 5-5. That’s how we went to into the top of the ninth. We couldn’t finish and went to extra innings still tied 5-5.
Ben Joyce had a nice top of the tenth inning to bring the Angels up tied at five. Taylor Ward was placed at second base and Luis Giuollorme bunted him over to third on a sacrifice. Kevin Pillar hit a walk off, Angels win 6-5.

Can a sentence have multiple subjects? Correct Explanation: That’s right! A sentence can have several subjects as long as each subject is sharing an action or state (compound subjects) or each subject is in a separate clause. Source Albert.com a online help for students

Question of the day.
Are the Athletics and Tigers as good the Yankees, Dodgers, and Braves?

Since when does grammar matter, or should it BTW?
Nobody here is getting paid to comment except Charles S Sutton.
You can change the oil on your own car or take it to a ASE certified mechanic. BTW you didn’t answer the question, so how are we going to do after the AS break, we never do well the last two months of the season

A win streak any time is good thing. Historically this team hasn’t feasted like it should against weaker teams. I think your comment was irritating because it was stating the obvious and somehow made more irritating with the poor grammar.

Bottom line: enjoy the wins no matter how/when they come.

Angels are also in a bit of a roster crunch soon. Thinking anout whats about to become avaialable in the next 2-3 weeks.
Drury: (Any update on this? 9 straight games but not on teh IL)
Soriano: Back to pitching and due back July 2nd vs. Oakland
Trout: Running soon and should be expected back in 2-3 weeks
Cimber: Throwing again and is prob 2 weeks away
Rendon: July 8th eligible and will soon be back
Quijada: Throwing in AZ complex league and could go on a full assignment in the next week. Mid-late July activation
Cisnero: Back to throwing again and is 2 weeks away
With all this coming back in 30 days or less, how does the roster look?

Don’t forget that the trade deadline will likely clear some space.

I’m not worried. There’s plenty of junk on the current 26 man that is easily droppable.

Sano will be released. Pillar will be traded. Drury was never put on the IL so the Angels re effectively playing a man short right now. That should address position players.

Pitching wise they will probably need to make some trades as the Angels already have roster crunch problems since eventually they will need 5 starting pitchers and depending how you classify Wantz (his last 2 starts at AAA-where he was dreadful BTW-he averaged only 54 pitches) they only have 3 starting pitchers ( Canning, TA & Daniel) on the roster right now . Some media outlets are reporting that Soriano will start on Tuesday 7/2 in Oakland The relievers with options are:

Crouse
Marte
Joyce
Wantz

My guess is Marte will get sent down after Todays game. Quijada is coming back from TJS I think they can rehab him up to 30 days before they have to make a move that will give the Angels time to trade Moore, Strickland or Charlie Sheen . Cimber and Cisneros I really dont give a rip about you could DFA both of them if you wanted . Cimber is making $1.65 Million while Cisneros is at $1.75 Million so its not the end of the world if you release them.

Wash is making players accountable. Attitudes are different during win streaks; everybody is on board with doing their best and being proud to show up. Yes sir, let’s sweep and win the next two series and see where this all-ends ups going into the trade deadline. But for the long run I still want to see a sell off and a rebuild.

Did you like the way the Galloping Gourmet laid down a great bunt last night after previously getting roasted by Wash in the press?

Maybe the old cajun knew what he was doing all along?

This is a very fun team to watch right now! O’Hoppe again! The bullpen were lights out once again! Defense finally coming through.

And I’ve ragged on my fair share on Luis, never on his offense, but on everything else. He’s proving to be way more than a super utility player.

15-10 in June. I remember Rendon preaching to aim for at least 15 wins each month to have a high chance for the playoffs. They finally do it in the 3rd month of the season. Do it 3 more times and we’ll sniff 80 wins for the first time in forever. Still probably would miss the playoffs, but would be a huge improvement for this team.

Perry’s going to have hard decisions in the days ahead. Not just about the deadline, but who to let go when the vets come back.

Great come back win, everyone happy. Can make you think if Easy Way didn’t ditch us , deferred money, recruited help, along with poor play by AL west, we could have had a chance this yr? Sick to my stomach watching some of Dodgers and Giants. Pantone (Doyer fan club) took over Oracle stadium tonight. Feel bad for them and any home team that has to deal with cocky Doyers followers. Their date to humiliate us is Sept 3. Big FU to them. and Easy Way

As much as I hate the Doyers , I’m not sure I could ever feel sorry for Giants or 49er fans.

I don’t discount his contribution to the team and his free will to choose his new team, but let’s not act like it was an unprecedented 6 years of near unanimous MVP performance.

He was injury-prone before Trout ever was. He was an afterthought after the 2020 season. People now easily forget and dismiss the otherwordly years of Trout just because he is currently more injured than not, but let’s not forget too that that guy has had his fair share of injuries while Trout was carrying the team.

Easy Way, That’s from Trout quote about having to request a trade or signing with a stacked team to win a championship. Hell yes I back Trout. If you want jump on the blue wagon and follow Easy Way Shohei to the playoffs have fun.

The Galloping Guillorme’s running catch of O-Hoppe’s throw in the 9th and tag of the runner – between Guillorme’s own legs, reaching low, to nail the go-ahead runner at 2nd and end the inning? Jaw-dropping. And dare I say: Simba-esque. If you haven’t seen it, you owe yourself. O’Hoppe caught it outside and rifled it to 2nd off one knee, side-arm, and then fell down flat from the motion, got up laffing at Guillorme’s play. Insane!

Oh and also: won’t even be on the radar for East-Spin’s Top 10.
