If he maintains his K rate at 25%, where it is now, it’s still a huge improvement over last year. I agree Nolan is better suited to 2, but there’s really no leadoff options after Rendon and Trout went down. One could argue Luis, but I don’t like that he’s quick to hit. I like Nolan working the count.
this game is pretty much our 2024 season. One of our best pitchers is terrific except for one inning, we botch baserunning and take ourselves out of a scoring opportunity.
Am I imagining it or do HP umps pretty consistently give our opponents pitchers’ strikes that are 5 inches off the plate (first pitch to Schanuel in this game for example..)?
The best MLB team in OC!
Go Angels!
That was fun.
Gotta be the lowest post count this deep into a game not on Sunday in a minute, and especially this early in the season, right?
Reminds me of the “No one is listening anyway” line in Major League…
in case you were wondering, 2 is the fewest runs Keller has given up in a game, twice, out of 7 previous starts. His ERA starting this game was 5.18.
Angels are Cy Young makers, for the opposing pitchers
“We’re just the team to strengthen your Cy Young credentials”
Good to see Moniak finally getting some hits. Hopefully he finally finds his home in the 2 spot, much like Nolan did at leadoff and Neto at 9.
We have to embrace the positive, however faint, wherever they appear.
Mickey’s BB/SO rates don’t work well in the 2-hole IMO. Schanny should be in that role, but he’s leading off. Lame.

Our guys sure love giving up grand slams.
Shouldn’t have bothered checking the box score
Genius move to sit our best hitter on a team that score.
Must remember: it’s good the kids are playing……
Repeat the refrain like a mantra. Our drink a couple of double bourbon’s.
Only a couple? Probably should have mentioned that sooner….

That’s why I dislike having slow guys at leadoff
why? no outs. Why?
Well…
I do hope Anderson gets out of this jam.
Runs scored by Angels Saturday, Sunday, and today combined thru 20 innings: Two.
Any questions as to why they don’t win?

You saw what Anderson got as a third strike call. The ump is lousy.
Yeah, I saw that. At least it is the same for both sides. So far that is …
In recent past games it has not been the case though …
