Good morning Angels fans. Have some links.
Angels News
Shohei Ohtani is an AL MVP finalist again per usual. He also got the QO.
GM meetings begin and Arte showed up? That is rare.
So who will be the next Angels manager anyway? Not Torii Hunter. It will be someone with experience. Not that it matters.
Max Stassi looks to play in 2024. His son was in the ICu most of the year but can now finally go home.
The White Sox continue to steal staff from the Angels for some reason. Are they sane?
Speaking of, Angels get new Strength and Conditioning. Again.
Around Baseball
It is award season so we have the finalists of all the major awards.
In not award news, Nevada teachers almost stopped the A’s moving. Alas the judge said no.
With Arte not being allowed to build around Angel Stadium, Cohen flexes his money by doing so around Citi Field. It is a lot of money.
Rays have to activate Wander Franco and that is awkward. MLB really needs to decide what to do with him.
So who had a qualifying offer? A few big names. Remember, draft pick lost if signed.
Oh and Ichiro broke a window. Yeah it was cool.
Anything I missed? Post below for upvotes!
How is the DBacks manager not one of the three finalists in the NL for Manager of the Year? I know the lists aren’t based on playoffs but wow.
Ron Washington hired by Angels today. It’s official. Such a bad call.
I’m liking this.
Why?
What a stupid, ignorant decision. Can’t wait to hear The Platypus spin this….
Boooooooooooooooooooooo
Does any of it matter? Between Buck and Washington and the consideration for Hunter/Salmon/Erstad, Arte seems to just be going back to the Mike Scioscia model.
That wasn’t working when he was let go. Then Ausmus sucked. Then Maddon. Then Nevin.
I don’t think the manager really matters with this organization. Competently and regularly developing homegrown talent makes a difference.
I’m rapidly becoming very unimpressed with Perry’s Management skills. He keeps saying he’s ultimately responsible and then proceeds to fire some of the people he hired. What would give anyone confidence he will hire the right people this time? And he didn’t fire the coaching staff like he should have done, he’s just left them all in limbo. He can’t seem to make any decisions. He should have hired Buck weeks ago. What players will want to come here without knowing who the manager is. It’s like he has no plan.
Not true, the Angels are just disrupters. And it’s time to pivot….again.
Which to the untrained eye looks like we are in constant limbo, but it’s just part of the planning, the appearance of stupidity is just a distractions. 😀😀
The Halos know that is not a toothpick that Washington has in his mouth all the time, right?
That picture of Ichiro is hysterical.
Monday, Nov. 13: Jackie Robinson Rookies of the Year
Tuesday, Nov. 14: Managers of the Year
Wednesday, Nov. 15: Cy Young Awards
Thursday, Nov. 16: MVP Awards
November 31st Halos announce their Ohtani & Yamamoto signings.
Hahaha! Hopium Den!
Naw, it’ll drag on until February 29th.
Bowden’s predictions in the Athletic are the Ohtani signs with Texas and Erstad is the next Halo manager.
Let’s hope he goes two for two.
I really can’t believe that The Angels are interviewing Ron Washington. I brought it up as a joke at the end of the season. Surely Arte remembers Ron’s “incident” at the motel on Katella Ave.
Be careful what you joke about!
Like a damn South Park moment. Yeeesh.
Your joke just became reality
Did I hear Tony Phillips as Bench Coach?
Hitting coach — Josh Hamilton.
Head Scout: Eric Kay
Assistant to the Hitting Coach: Trevor Andrew Bauer
Halos DEI coordinator John Rocker.
Chad Curtis community outreach……
Brandon Woods player development
A team that already has a Tyler Skaggs problem just doesn’t need this.
You take drugs Danny?

Tony Phillips agrees with you.
