LA Angels Tuesday News Crash: Elimination

Texas beat the Astros to advance to the World Series. Adolis Garcia hit another homer and became the MVP of the ALCS. Of course, Bryan Abreu will serve his suspension next season. The Rangers will have home field advantage. Dusty Baker is probably done managing.

Meanwhile the Diamondbacks forced a game 7 in the NLCS.

Everybody’s looking for a manager. This article is about the Guardians’ interest in Steven Vogt. This article, on the other hand, is about the Giants’ interest in Bob Melvin.

Bartolo Colon just got drafted in the Baseball United League in Dubai.

Another pitcher, Tom Walker, just passed away, this time at the age of 74.

The one thing that can be said about the Angels is the AL West was tough this seasons except for Oakland. Hence, having trouble stocking wins against those clubs isn’t unusual. The NL West also has a team one game away from the WS and they beat another NL West team to get to this point. Hoping for good news from now on for Angels.

If the Angels ever steal a manager away from another team he’d be named “Butter Boy”.

So you want to bring back Brian Butterfield as our next manager?

How about Ty Buttrey as the pitching coach?

Melvin to manage the Giants. I guess he was available after all.

And of course being a superior manager we were no where to be found. If it were between him and Buck, I’d call it a coin toss.

So Wednesday-Thursday will be a dead period before the Series and a time when announcements can be made – we’ll see if Perry has anything to say.

Wouldn’t surprise me a bit to see Phillip go south – former player and he brings a bit of the red ass to a team that could surely use it. And with that line-up, watch him lead the Friars to the 2024 WS Championship.

Could also see Benji from TJ go there too – if it’s our amigo, likewise, i could see him getting the most out of the Latin core and leading them to the 2024 WS too.

as we say, trAdition.

I’m surprised that Padres would let Melvin go without any compensation from the Giants considering he had a year left on his contract and he’s moving to a division rival.

At this point though, I’m even more shocked that AJ still has a job. he has been the piracy builder of the Padre turd with virtually an unlimited budget from management . Considering how many mangerial squabbles he’s had you would Ownership would have jettisoned him in a hot second after this last season.

I’ve noticed this trend in other businesses: ownership is too close to upper management to see the real problem.

Restaurants, sales gigs, a bar…plenty of places where employee turnover was insanely high but the GM kept his job.

Here it is Arte and his college buddies at the tippy top of the food chain.

As far as I know, Shohei has not announced which team he will be playing for, so I am still part of CtPG posters. Yes, I have been away, but have been occasionally reading the enlightening posts. Many things have been occurring in my life right now, like retiring, going to social security office, and getting new driver’s license, etc. I am healthy, and good to go.

As I have promised, I will share what is going on with NPB. They are down to two teams, one is Hanshin Tigers and the other Orix Buffaloes. Overall sentiment will have more Japanese people cheer for Hanshin Tigers, who are like Boston Redsux, who did not win World Series until that miracle comeback to beat the MFYankees. Many of you remember that the crazed Tigers fan dropped KFC Colonel Sanders statue in Dotonbori River after winning last one.

Both Shota Imanaga and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are expected to be posted. They will not make official announcement until November. Both pitched for Team Japan in WBC, and Yamamoto will probably stick as Darvish, Tanaka, and Kuroda, but it will be interesting how he will manage 5 man rotation. I am not that confident about Imanaga; about 50% chance that he will not make it in MLB.

Lars Nootbar with regular MLB season over was immediately invited by Japanese sponsor and has been touring Japan. As many of you know, he played for Team Japan and has been somewhat of a celebrity in Japan.

Last of all, I would like to thank all of you at CtPG for tolerating and including me. It has been entertaining, but I would like to make a confession of some sort. I had a tough year mentally. I was in the darkest place of my life, but this website was one of the reasons why I am now feeling much better. I will not go into details, but communicating with many of you have been a huge blessing. Even if Shohei goes elsewhere, I would love to meet you crazy and genuine Angels fans come next season at Big A and personally thank you and have a beer or two.

I will participate more in discussion when World Series begin. I would like Phillies to go to World Series because I like Marsh.

Shohei is ours till the last out of the WS. At least.

Thank you Kiyotchan-san for the update (and hang in there). I take it Shohei is still in the USA?

Maybe we can find a Bob’s Big Boy statue to drop into the Santa Ana River if we ever win another.

Mr Chan – Will Follow

If Shohei walks away (he will), walks away
He walks away, walks away
He will follow
If he walks away, walks away
He walks away, walks away
I wont follow
I won’t follow, he will follow
I won’t follow, he will, he will

Stay in touch Mr Chan……unless you end up in LA, Seattle, Boston or certain boroughs of New York, or any team in Texas.

I’ve had a tough go at it lately, after a younger sister dying of cancer and ending a very close 8-year relationship. Started taking magnesium glycinate supplements… and I’m not a supplement guy. I swear it’s an anti-anxiety pill for me, but of course talk to your doctor. Good Luck

Going to be weird, but it is Halloween time after all, but I am an American League fan and will have to root for Texas Rangers. Maybe, just maybe I will root for the National League this year. We’ll see how it shakes out.

BTW- do you think that the Dodgers miss either Seager or Turner? Who can meet in the WS, dumb Dodgers.

Cowboy26

Or Yordan Alvarez?

Also, Do you think the Cardinals miss Randy Arozarena or Ardolis Garcia?

These 2 teams have recently cast off more position player talent then we’ll be seeing on our roster for a long time.

I think I’ll have to go for the NL here (Phillies, hoping). With my team out I go the players I like better and not knowing anything about the D-backs and not being fond of showboating, I’m going to go with Harper and Captain Caveman.

Boy oh boy did Garcia get hot against the cheaters. And Montgomery really worked it against the Asswipes too. The Human Gnome swings for the fences and was hot too, makes one ask was he cheating once again. HOF? I hope not.

If postseason performance is a contributing factor (see Jeter, at least his speed of getting there), then Altuve has an in. I think he is second all-time in postseason HRs?

Behind Manny Ramirez who cheated in a more traditional way.

Just one more game, just one more until we finally make it to the World Series. I still am running 55-45% pulling for the Diamondbacks, but Phillies will work too, so may the best team win and move on.

Reported that Dusty to retire, what a great career in MLB. My favorite memory was the 1977 season when he and Reggie (Smith) – Penguin – Lopes and Garvey (I prefer Blondes) all hit 30 or more HRs in a season and Dusty always smiling. Dusty came up when Hank Aaron was still playing in Atlanta. Great career.

The Nationals too. He had 2-seasons there, 2016 and 2017 with 95 and 97 wins respectively…and gets fired.

My dad really liked him as a player. I only remember him as a manager.

I’ve been around him at Spring Training a few times when he managed the Reds. He laughed a lot, his players seemed to like him, and he took pictures with fans.

I met Dusty years ago at the annual Angel Dodgers banquet that the sportswriters would put on just before spring training would start. I think it was in his first off season as a Doyer in 1976/1977. While I was a true blue Angel fan at that point he was so gracious to a snot nose young teenager just trying to get an autograph. he couldn’t have been nicer to take the time to just talk with me.

I’ve believe he is one of the nicest and most genuine people that have ever played the game and was not a bad player or manager either. He’s got alot of talents outside of baseball including a winery so he doesn’t need to mange again. https://www.bakerfamilywines.com/

I’ll give it. a try here in the near future. I did hear it’s more satisfying and has a much better finish than the Dave Roberts wines. https://www.redstitchwine.com/Our-Story
