It seems almost unfair.
All the complaining and lamenting of how rough the Angels season went, and how we want to be like those other teams like the Rays who won 99 games, while we sucked.
Yet now in a blink of an eye, while I still feel like the Angels season barely ended, the Rays are sitting at home watching October baseball just like us.
Getting there……is fun. That all I ask, get there and get there frequently. Most of this playoff shit is luck. Getting there after 6 months is your reward.
Nobody is showing up? I got an idea.. Instead of moving to city where you might get 19,000 “standing outside the stadium watching” on a big screen, yelling and screaming…………just build a new stadium down the street, that will get them to come. Same thing they said about the Marlins, didn’t happen.
I’m an idiot, but I’m thinking Floridians aren’t fans of MLB baseball outside of Spring Training. I’m sure Arte is looking into moving there to be the 3rd team. He seems like a Jacksonville kinda guy.
Makes no sense, it’s super tough to get from Tampa to St Pete. The only way to get there (applies to the cities south of Tampa as well), you have to take a toll bridge. Sitting in traffic on a toll bridge is as bad as being stuck in traffic on the 91.
I’ve been to that stadium (though it was about 20 yrs ago) and my father used to live not far from there in Bradenton…. Somebody else said, (and I think it’s true) that Florida is not a baseball state. Football is King there.
But in addition I think MLB did the Rays a disservice by scheduling two day games during the work week. If these games had been at night, and especially on the weekend I feel like the attendance would have been much better. It does not totally excuse the fanbase, but it could be argued that Tampa really lost their homefield advantage through that decision of MLB.
You have to imagine Arte is looking at the Rangers and thinking if he had Bochy managing his team, that would possibly result in a trip to the playoffs like it did with the Rangers. But maybe not.
Botchy would be a villain right now if he was the Angels manager. It just a fact, we wouldn’t have that much better record, few games closer to .500. Nobody would have been able to overcome the injuries and the pitching. He’d make some better decisions than Phillip. Same Wise sitting next to him, same 3rd base coach guessing stay or go, same hitting coach telling everyone to swing more and harder.
I think Bochy would have made a difference. We were in at the trade deadline. How much better would our record have been with Bochy at that time? 5 more games up or 10 games. Plus we were better than last year. We tanked the last of the year by giving away our players.
The road teams in the first round are always dangerous. I think this will be the second time the Rangers beat the Rays in the playoffs. In 2010 I believe it also happened …
Not hard to choose
Phil’s over Braves
D-backs over Dodgers
Twins over Astros
O’s over Rangers
Go Snakes!!!
down goes Milwaukee
Bring on the doyers!
The bandwagon is about to get much bigger.
That Brewer never tasted so bad .
Grave salami Philly. This one is done.
These D’backs bs Brewers games have been intense.
Much closer than the other three series
Huh…. looks like all Elvis Paguero had to do was get a couple thousand miles from CTPG Guy Ju Ju. Shocking.
Hoby too
I toldyah so…………SMALL MARKET TEAMS CAN’T BEAT WEALTHIER TEAMS IN THE POST SEASON
The KC Royals say hello.
Hey it’s a picture of your girlfriend Rosie
What’s a matter? Your mom still wont let you marry her , Toots ?
The question is will I need to schedule a thread for tomorrow?
Right now, it does not look like you have to.
Son of an Angel picked off the bases? Coincidence? Key here is Angels and bad base running. He spent to much time in Anaheim as a Yute.
Michael Kay 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼
A-Fraud 🤮🤡🤮
AL East looking weak
3.5 games
2 runs
Astros going back to the series against the Braves.
Orioles need to spend and wheel and deal now..
Texas-Houston for the AL Pennant would be epic- make it happen
NO ! I hate them both !
Go Orioles !!
What about them Twinkies?
Nah, I’d rather see Baltimore.
Jered Walsh is better? 😆 😆
Unfortunately I think Walshy now suffers from the same brain disorder that you do.
And just like that…

Ha ha. I forgot Heaney was on the Texas roster…
It is humorous that he will end up winning a playoff series. Life is funny sometimes…
the 19,000 fans who showed up are disappointed
Those fans in St. Pete are WEAK.
I mean, your team is hosting a playoff series and half the stadium is empty?
Pathetic.
But if there is no-one there did it even really happen?
Nobody is showing up? I got an idea.. Instead of moving to city where you might get 19,000 “standing outside the stadium watching” on a big screen, yelling and screaming…………just build a new stadium down the street, that will get them to come. Same thing they said about the Marlins, didn’t happen.

I’d love to get feedback from anybody who knows the area.
If a huge deterrent to drawing fans is the location, why are they building a new one in the same location?

It’s because St Pete wanted it and is paying for it.
Same access issues, but hey screw Tampa- we’re getting a new stadium!!
announced attendance, 20,198 for a playoff elimination game!
This

I’m a big Bochy fan. I’d love him here.
Still don’t think this team makes the playoffs, though.

Maybe it would make it because he brings a special mojo.
How about if Nevin managed the Rangers? Are they even a .500 team this year?
Man Eovaldi is nails in the post season.
He was available as a FA.
Wanted to pitch in his home state of Texas. We no in Texas
Similar to the Wheeler issue.
these are 2 of 3, right? So every team that lost yesterday is in big trouble.
Tampa Bay has a four more innings left before golf season.
Moral of the story: Beware of starting the season 13-0.
The road teams in the first round are always dangerous. I think this will be the second time the Rangers beat the Rays in the playoffs. In 2010 I believe it also happened …
