Blowpen Creates Postgame Havoc

Here’s the first draft;

We’re back in the win column thanks to some clutch hitting by Drury, Moose, and our friend Trey Cabbage.

Detmers was solid and the bullpen held.

Draft two:

But then Esteves gave up 2 in the 9th and we lost.

Trying to rebound:

Ok, the Angels powered back to tie it at four and now I’m stuck. Key hits by Moniak and Rengifo knotted it up.

Soriano immediately cashed in tte free runner in the 10th. Angels down 5-4.

That was the final. The losing skid continues.

Got only 9 games left this month vs teams with losing records, Guardians, Tigers, and A’s.
They’ll have another bad month in September of less than 10 wins.

In some good news, Nolan enters the MLB’s list of Top 100 prospects, slotting in at #100.

Hopefully he will have a more significant Angels career than #99 Top Prospect Taylor Lindsey.

He probably would’ve been a higher rated player had he played at a SEC school.

Man the tickets are dropping in price online for home game. Maybe it would be fun to get cheap diamond club seats and pretend the Angels are a good team. Or enjoy watching Guardians play, they are at least still trying to make playoffs.

Just saw front row of the Field Terrace just behind 3B for $15. That’s 2001 pricing!

Oh and $4 Club seats. 😂

The Angels are 8-23 in the month of August and September, shooting to eclipse the 16-36 record of the Ausmus 2018 squad and this will go down as the worst meltdown this century.

Didn’t understand Drury’s boneheaded play, though… i mean, that wasn’t exactly Joe West umpiring second base. Gotta make that play.

Downing Dude, this is for you.

The Angels are 10-26 over their last 36 games and at that rate we’ll win 6 of our last 23. Yes, 6-17…it rounds down, maybe 7-16 so that’s 70 or 71 wins

And the MLB lottery odds for finishing in 5th place you may ask?

1st 10.0
2nd10.3
3rd 10.6
4th 10.9
5th 11.1
6th 11.0
7th 16.5
8th 15.7
9th 3.6
10th 0.2
11th >0.0

but here’s the problem, when you got a slight mathematical chance at drafting10th (or lower) even though you’re really in 5th place , You’re drafting 10th.

Here was last years odds of winning the lottery. All non-playoff teams participate. If your team is in the worst 3 you have the best odds at 16.5%.

Nationals (55-107), 16.5%
A’s (60-102), 16.5%
Pirates (62-100), 16.5%
Reds (62-100), 13.2%
Royals (65-97), 10.0%
Tigers (66-96), 7.5%
Rangers (68-94), 5.5%
Rockies (68-94), 3.9%
Marlins (69-93), 2.7%
Angels (73-89), 1.8%
D-backs (74-88), 1.4%
Cubs (74-88), 1.1%
Twins (78-84), 0.9%
Red Sox (78-84), 0.8%
White Sox (81-81), 0.6%
Giants (81-81), 0.5%
Orioles (83-79), 0.4%
Brewers (86-76), 0.2%

In the above example, the first six picks are slotted due to the draft results. From there, the non-playoff teams are slotted in according to their winning percentage. So, for example, if the Boston Red Sox (above) did not “defy the odds” and win the lottery for one of the top six spots, they will draft 14th. If, hypothetically, one of the teams with smaller odds than Boston wins the lottery and jumps ahead of them, Boston would slide back one spot to 15th.

Arte pays for players not for coaches. Plus like CJ Wilson tweeted out, the players aren’t even told to watch video, because Vladdy hit w/o it.

well he also said things that are verifiable and not just oh so and so said this. Did the Angels not have a weight room in ST until 2013? Did they not serve breakfast? Those sound like things that if he was wrong, we’d certainly hear about it. I dunno though….

C J Wilson didnt get served breakfast some day 10 friggin years ago? boo hoo.

What is this a cry for help now that his playing career is long over?

BTW the Angels had the best record in baseball in 2014 so if the Angels were intentionally starving players if was working real well back then.

James – good thing it doesn’t matter. These games are meaningless other than for draft position so losing is actually productive!

Embarrassing. I think Trout should just take 50% of his contract and go to a team that can contend the next few years. If he doesn’t take money off, he’s not worth it at this point to another team and he’ll just wind up here doing what he has done for 10+ years.

MH252525

and by what he has done here for 10+ years I mean lose, because there is no way he puts up 1000 OPS again.
