The Rays struck early with a two spot in the first inning. The Angels did not answer. In the top of the second inning Randal Grichuk made a great catch to rob a homer.
The Angels parlayed several infield hits and a sac fly to tie the game in the second inning. Moniak:

There were also some strikeouts from the usual suspects.
The Angels had a wild bottom half of the third inning. They scored on an error, a wild pitch, a passed ball, and a double. 6-2 Angels.
Then Josh Lowe homered to make it 6-3 Angels. So did Rene Pinto. 6-5 Angels. Chase Silseth couldn’t get through the fourth inning. Griffin Canning came in. The Angels still clung to a 6-5 lead. Runners were at first and second with two outs. He retired Randy Arazorena on one pitch.
The Angels went three up three down in the fourth inning. Brandon Drury homered in the fifth inning to make it 7-5 Angels.
Jonathan Aranda homered in the top of the sixth to make it 7-6 Angels. Shohei Ohtani had a base running screw up in the seventh inning.
Matt Moore came in to pitch the eighth inning. The score was still 7-6 Angels after the top of the eighth. Hunter Renfroe came in to pinch hit but did nothing. Randal Grichuk flied out. Jordyn Adams grounded out to short.
Reynaldo Lopez came in for the save attempt. Yandy Diaz got a hit on the first pitch. Brandon Lowe and Randy Arozarena struck out. Luke Raley lined out to Grichuk in left. The Angels won 7-6.
