It is Angels at Detroit, both teams coming into the series doing well since the break. With Canning vs E-Rod for game 1. Can the Canning man can the Detroit lineup? Kinda? He went 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, striking out 8 and walking none. It wasn’t great, but hey, I’ll take 5 innings, 2 ER.
Not that anyone was able to see anything, as the cameras were not working, proving, yet again that you can’t have anything in Detroit. At least they eventually turned on, but the sound was… not good. It is 2023 and the backup option is an underwater mic? Yeesh.

Well, the Moose was loose to start the game, doubling in 2 in the top of the 1st. No pics exist, however, so it may not be real.
What was real, was the Tigers scoring in the 4th, making it 2-1 Angels.

Unfortunately, Canning gave up a home run in the bottom half.
Canning left after the 5th, with Soriano pitching 2 shutout innings after that. But the bigger news was that the broadcast was now fixed! How did that happen? Erica Weston rented a truck, went to Lowes, and brought back a large generator. Seriously.
After a scoreless Matt Moore inning, Rengifo tripled in a run in the 8th!
Ward then singled in Rengifo to put this game out of save reach.
Estevez did come in anyway, giving up a run.
And he allowed another run. Uh oh.
Oh, whew, a pop fly to center, game ov-WHAT THE?!

Well, Mickey Moniak made up for his error by driving in the Manfred runner in the 10th.
Aaaand then gets thrown out at 3B on a wild pitch. Now Loup has to come in to try and win a 1 run game.
He did it. Loup got the save as the Angels win!

Somehow, someway, the Angels win! Two more vs Detroit before a trip to Toronto. Only a few more games before the deadline, every single one counts.
