Q:Have you ever experienced fans in the stand serenading “Come to Seattle” when you were at bat?
A:No, this is the first time. I heard them, but I concentrated on batting.
Q:How was your experience in this ASG?
A:Not as nervous as the first time. It feels fresh and I have great time at every ASG I participated.
Q:Various players mentioned that you are the greatest player, but who do you think is a great player from your perspective.
A;Not just today, but I’ve always thought Mookie Betts is an amazing player who plays RF, SS, and 2B at high level.
Q:You seemed to have held animated conversation with Arraez when you reached 2B. What did you talk about?
A:He mentioned something about needing my legs because he got caught stealing earlier. (LOL) He seems to get a base hit every time I look up even during regular season when we have faced him. He is one of the best hitting machines in MLB.
Q:What did you think of Seattle fans?
A:I feel every time I come to T-mobile stadium that they are passionate baseball fans. I have spent a considerable amount of time in Seattle off season past 2 years. The city is clean and livable.
Q:Which team players recruited you to their teams?
A:It is secret. Even if I was strongly recruited, I would not tell you. (LOL)
Q:How were your 2 at bats today?
A:I wanted to swing aggressively. Both times, I had 3-2 counts, and I was going to swing even if the pitch was slightly out of zone.
Q:How are you going to approach the second half of season?
A:Nothing particularly different from my side. I will attempt to maintain the best condition for each game. With some returning from IL, my teammates and I will start as soon as we get together to prepare for the upcoming series.
Q:Arozarena displayed impressive defense right from the first inning.
A:He has shown superior ability with his bat and glove throughout the season. He clearly possesses the star quality in MLB. I believe he is someone who can command his fans support and enthusiasm.
Q:How are you going to spend the next two days?
A:I believe tomorrow is an off day. The day after tomorrow is one day before the first game against Houston, so I will start my preparation as usual.
Q:You were looking to hit a homerun today, but was there a pitch you thought you should have?
A:The first pitch during second at bat. Thought I hit that curve ball well, but the ball started veering toward foul territory unfortunately.
Q:This was your third ASG, did you feel different about relating to other players this time?
A:I thought there were many younger players this time, and I had never spoken to many of them. However, once we started conversation, I found them friendly and easy to talk to. So, I enjoyed the whole experience.
According to Powerball site, I have 0.1% chance of winning $2001 on $2 ticket. So, if you could wait till 8 pm west coast time tomorrow, I will let you know. But, by miracle if I win the big one, then you may not hear from me ever again. 😆
Funny the difference in tone between Smoltz’s outlook on the Mariners vs us being 1 game apart. With the M’s he’s talking like they are a lock and with us he just keeps saying kind of still in it. It’s Funny what a 8 game swing can do to perception.
My guy Adley! Speaking of moving runners and stuff. As The Oregon State way if you watch the o’s play you will almost always see Adley have a quality AB and get runners moved or at least clearly sell out trying. This is something that is a huge part of Beaver baseball. There was hell to pay for not executing in these scenarios because execution is stressed EVERY DAY.
Gritcho-Sensei previously discussed Steven Kwan, who was taken in the 5th round by former Indians in 2018 draft. He would have been a terrific lead off hitter and LF for the Angels, probably resulted in at least 3 more wins this season.
so uh….I’m not watching but I *am* following on Gameday. What happened to the homerun that tied the game…but didn’t? Was that what angelslogic was referring to? Was it a foul ball?
kinda like Dave Niehaus who did the Seattle games. “And Edgar rips one into the gap!!!…and Henderson drifts over and makes the catch” That one made a lasting impression on me.
I stood up for cancer this year; my own. It was high grade bladder cancer, but lucky for me I caught it early. It was surgically removed and in all likelihood is never coming back. 🙂

Nice answer on the Betts question
Thanks Arte for the ASG loss
See you all Friday
Hmmmm. Getting interesting.
Welp
Thought Patty O was announcing
If the NL holds this lead does it mean the Angels open on the road in the World Series?
Ha!
It is time to look for plane tickets to and hotels in ATL on October 27 and 28. According to Kayak.com, it is $398 for round trip between SNA and ATL.
Tell you what – you pay me $2,000 now non refundable and if the Angels make the WS I’ll buy your airline and tickets.

😄
At this rate – YES
This game has no bearing on the 2053 World Series
The Baptist sucks
Is this going to be the first time NL is going to win since 2012? Is that a sign?

Noticed that as well

Yea Kwanny is a stud as well just solid all around. Great dude too
So we couldn’t have had either one of Alex Cobb or Michael Lorenzen instead of Tyler Anderson?
Lorenzen did. not pitch like that when we had him.
Of course not. The Arte Angels jinx.
so uh….I’m not watching but I *am* following on Gameday. What happened to the homerun that tied the game…but didn’t? Was that what angelslogic was referring to? Was it a foul ball?
yea it was foul by about 5 feet. Shocking how many of those have been missed this year.
Vlad Jr is having a rough time with the glove tonight.
Where’s Dick Enberg when you need him: That’s a deep drive to left centerfield drifting foul.
kinda like Dave Niehaus who did the Seattle games. “And Edgar rips one into the gap!!!…and Henderson drifts over and makes the catch” That one made a lasting impression on me.
That’s funny
He was popular in the NW, but not so much in SoCal. He left for Seattle in ’69 and it gave Drysdale an open door into the booth in ’70.
Grand Salami.

😂 Funny Stuff.
Is Nevin managing the AL All Stars? They seem to be aggressively swinging good pitch or not.
If Riley were an Angel, he would have been called out on strikes, twice.
I stood up for cancer this year; my own. It was high grade bladder cancer, but lucky for me I caught it early. It was surgically removed and in all likelihood is never coming back. 🙂
💪
Oh my goodness, logic, so glad to hear this good outcome!
Very glad for the outcome!
that’s some very good news!
So rosenthal said we aren’t trading Shohei? He gone
No. Because Arte doesn’t want to be THAT owner. At least if Sho leaves in FA, Arte can say he tried his best to re-sign him but he went somewhere else
I have a feeling Arte’s gonna pull this off….no I’m not sniffing glue or on coke. Haha
Rosenthal speaks facts mostly.
Nice Estevez!
Esty!
