Who is playing third? Not even an attempt. Watch the bat and you will have a clue dude.

Yikes, this is Rockies’ batting practice.

Phillips is just not a MLB player, his AB’s are just horrible looking. Could it be Moniak is the real deal? The Angels owe it to themselves to find out is how I see it.

Q not exactly fooling them.

Bad timing for Q to have a melt down with cuts to be made. Nevin stuck with him a lot longer than most would have.

There’s no way Moniak doesn’t make the opening day roster right? Dude has been absolutely raking.

Can you imagine if this guy actually blossoms into the player he was meant to be? Would look like a genius trade.

2 HRs from a healthy Moniak today.

If Phillips makes the roster over Mickey end of ST, you can just ignore the rest of what comes out of Nevin’s and Minasian’s mouths this season. You can’t natter on and on about breaking camp with the best 26, and then reverse yourselves to save face on a $1.2M signing mistake.

10-15 minor league offers for that leadership. Only one MLB one. 😉

Asking for a friend. MM won’t start over Ward or Hunter….wouldn’t getting him AB’s in AAA every day, all 3 OF spots be better for the long-range plan? A possible stud that will replace Hunter next year or allow us to trade Ward this year, or next. Or, the likelihood he’ll be needed to replace an often injured starting OFer this year, he’d be 1st in line… this is with the hope that’s he’s more than a 4th OF’er, he could be a #1-#1 talent that we fleeced from the Phillies. Can a kid reach his potential sitting the bench most nights?

I’ll rephrase the question thusly: would it be better to have a worse player on the roster?

I’ll put you down for a big NO vote E-in-P.

Meh so he can ride the pine and get his 4 weekly MLB AB’s?

I think Id still keep him at AAA. Phillips defense would be a great asset to put in left field in Late & close games.

Still can’t make out what Brett Phillips is doing on this roster. Moniak plays all three OF positions, is a lefty, and has far greater hit and power upside.

And if the Angels just want a pure defender, they have Jordyn Adams in the system with 80-grade speed and a 70-grade glove.

Both Moniak and Adams have destroyed Phillips in this “merit-based” competition so far this spring.

One can only hope that this voice of reason is heard. Seems like Moniak has earned a spot out of ST, and could get plenty of playing time even as the 4th OF option by rotating in as a starter (for off days, keep everyone fresh) or as a defensive substitute.

Two players that we need to show they “get it” just had RBI hits, Moniak and Walsh.

So excited to watch Detmers this season. He’s going to dominate!
