The Pirates signed Kevin Plawecki to a minor league deal. I think that’s the big news of the weekend, folks. Just kidding. The Diamondbacks signed Andrew Chafin.
Chris Shaw got his minor league deal with the White Sox.
Derek Jeter will be on Fox Sports with A Rod.
I’m pretty sure there is typo here. ” The Marlins acquired AJ Puk from the Marlins … “
Yasiel Puig is in even more trouble in his gambling case.
The Dodgers signed Alex Reyes to a one year deal. They also got David Peralta for a year.
Michael Fulmer is going to the Cubs.

Apparently Angels have a promotion going on with $5 tickets.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing that.
It’s about what I would be willing to pay. Weird collection of games. No Fridays or Saturdays, no top tier teams; Dodgers, Red Sox, Giants or Yankees. A’s should be $.050.
I might snag an Indians game in September. 2023 WS sleeper.
Definitely trying to fill in the crowd on days that aren’t busy. I might pick up some Club level seats for Sunday afternoons. $30 per is decent if you’re in the shade.
Oh Boy! Jeter AND A Rod?!? Looks like I’ll be watching a little less baseball this season.
Puig’s gambling crap is a shock to me. Such a vibrant yet classy guy who was the cool breeze of change this stale game needed while also being the next Mike Trout. Who could have guessed he’d be so scuzzy?
I just don’t care about not signing Chafin. The guy likes Arizona. Good for him. He’s a solid arm but it’s not like we can’t get the same out of other guys we already have. I’d kind of prefer Fulmer. And if you’re crying about not signing Alex Reyes then it’s time to buy a needle, your sad sack is full to bursting. I’m not sure I want to pay Moore what he wants to be… Mike Moore, and Britton I’d love to gamble on if we can give him Reyes’s deal.
AJ Puk…. some day we will figure out how Arte screwed that prospect up for the A’ss.
Almost as bad as adding Brady for football.
It was just reported that they’ve made the runner at 2B to start extra innings permanent. Manfred is just dedicated to destroying the game
God, I hate that stupid zombie runner rule.
I believe you mean Manfred & the players, since the MLBPA has members on the rules commitee
Here’s the Competition Committee Members as of September of last year:
The Competition Committee is composed of eleven members: six representatives from the Clubs; four MLBPA Player Reps; and one umpire.
MLB Committee Members: John Stanton (SEA, Chair); Bill DeWitt, Jr. (STL); Greg Johnson (SF); Dick Monfort (COL); Tom Werner (BOS); Mark Shapiro (TOR)
Player Committee Members: Jack Flaherty (STL); Tyler Glasnow (TB); Whit Merrifield (KC); Austin Slater (SF)
Ian Happ (CHC) and Walker Buehler (LAD) will serve as Alternate Committee Members.
Umpire Committee Member: Bill Miller
The proposal deck is interesting.
Excuse the link, couldn’t figure out how to alias it.

Seems like a pretty Lame O committee if they have Mark Shapiro on it. Hell, That dude didn’t even have any clue how great Peter Brand was.
Yeah. Players hate the super long extra innings games. I thought this rule would bug me a lot more than it has. Especially if your team’s thin on depth or versatility. I also just don’t know that many fans who loooooovvvvve a 16 inning game on a Thursday night. Love it even less if they lose. And losing by “ghost runner”? Well, someone was gonna lose somehow…. makes defensive subs important. In a few years, as this becomes normal, I bet we enjoy this “sudden death” rule a lot more than the old man’s conceptual enjoyment of the 2am death march till a 4th OF finally gives up three hits and a team finally wins.
Who ACTUALLY enjoys that game if we’re honest?
Unions are always in favor of less work for more pay!😂
aren’t most?
😠
yeah, this is where I get roasted for saying I actually like the ghost runner during the regular season. It adds immediate intrigue and drama and gets games over quicker. I like all of that.
What I don’t like is the 1-1 tie in the 14th inning with nary a baserunner for 5 innings.
I like what you are saying, but I’m going to ghost/guest rec you so nobody thinks I’m a wuss for hating 16 inning exercises in futility and thus undermining the fabric of both true baseball and America itself.
Chicken!
Buh Cawwwwww!
Mike Trout is sad about hie Eggles today
Thankfully he doesn’t need to endure another mother Kelce interview/story/article.
Well its time that Mike Trout finally stops supporting losers
Trout is going to be traded? Where?
Sure hope we finally get a SS!
I was rooting for the Eagles. But when Maholms went down with that hurt ankle and I heard all those Eagles fans cheering both at the game and in the bar I was like….. ooops, you just fkd yer JuJu…. and then JuJu literally fkd them.
Yeah. You can happy he’s out, but do not, repeat NOT, cheer that injury. There but for the grace of the FSM goes YOUR QB.
Have a great day my friends and stay warm, GPB out.
One shelf of my bookcase is dedicated to the Angels and by my desk is some more stuff, so even someone visiting for the first time knows where my Baseball allegiants is with. So naturally the conversations are about MLB. The consensus is the Angels have improved, but maybe not enough to make the playoffs. 😣 The Pitch Clock is welcomed too. There is a split down the middle in regard to the new scheduling of playing everyone. Those over 30 do not really care for it and those under 30 think it’s OK. I think the Commish is trying to eliminate the 2-league concept. It is unique. to MLB only as the other sports have conferences.
Dusting of snow last night, along with it cold. Everything coming in from the North, so cold it will be. Everyone is headed down the hill today with lots of food. 😄
There’s a nice breakfast spot we gotta meet up at before I move. DJ coffee shop right off of 40th and waterman. Breakfast on me 🤘
Hopefully you’re not moving out of the IE , Mr IE
Not yet. San bernardino to hesperia or apple valley. I’m ready for more land and less crazy homeless ppl. Utah or AZ in the next 5 – 10 years.
DJ! Wow that place is right out of 1960. Used to shop at the Staters there, and always had to stop first for pancakes or pork chops. Glad to know it’s alive and kicking.
That’s where I do the majority of my grocery shopping. DJ’s is a great place. Good food, but it does get packed on the weekends.
Know the Area, we like going down the hill to a Mexican grocery store to shop for our makings for Xmas tamales. Some years we make 400+. A meeting is doable, either in San Berdo or Victorville as we go the back way often, not as long a drive and safer in the Winter.
We lived through the Super Bowl. 😀 🏈 Half paying attention I started looking to see who had the TV remote when a commercial aired for TUBI, another 8 bucks a month app for reruns, yep, just not enough of those. It faked me out. 😊
Great football game with a comeback attached. The game was a 10, not often that happens. The forecasters were 80% on the Eagles, yikes!
One complaint, why a Black National anthem? Half time show didn’t WOW anyone, but wasn’t bad, so we gave it a 5, Commercials 7 out of 10. This is going to be a big year for movie theaters.
The Play by Play and Color announcing was a little weak, Kevin Burkhart was a bit over the top when the Eagles did something he liked. I love Terry Bradshaw, but it’s time for him to hang it up and ride into the sunset, imho.
The best part of the day was family and friends and the food. Add to that a close game and it all added up to a TEN, good job NFL. 😃
Up next WBC and ST followed by March Madness.
i’m all about having as many national anthems as possible.
Always liked going to Blue Jays games back in the day- you get to sing along with the Star Spangled Banner, O Canada, and Take Me Out to the Ballgame. This is before Buttercup, of course.
Happened at the party I was at, too.
“It’s gonna be awesome. Everybody’s gonna be pissed off! Then, they’ll realize it was just an annoying gag! Then they’ll wonder who the brilliant people who made such an add are. Then they’ll search Tubi in their Googs. Then they will NOT just send our customer service email an invitation to eat a bag of dicks. Noooo. They will totally buy our service cause of our awesome ad.”
We are ready for your prediction last Wednesday to come true Rex!!
Joe Buck, A-Rod and now Jeter on Fox baseball ? Just added yet another reason for me not to watch their games.
Buck is gone over to ESPN. AROID was enough for me to not watch Fox-Sorts Baseball pre-game and then there is Ortiz, PED lovers unite. I bet soon Albert will show up.
But Albert still has 10 years of “personal services” owed to The Angels! Maybe Arte will have him on baseball broadcasts dropping the Angels name every time he can.
8 left and we can forget he was ever an Angel.
Well unfortunately, the PS contract doesn’t start until he retires so Grandpa Groundout is now just a rookie this year.
We will forget about Albert like we have all forgotten about the Vernone Wells trade! It is forever seared into our brains..
