LA Angels Monday News Crash: Legal Betting

Pete Rose bet on the Reds to win the World Series now that there is legal betting on sports in Ohio.

Was first base the Angels weakest position in 2022? The Angels hired Cam Vieaux, Jose Godoy, and Gerardo Reyes to minor league deals. We’re set now! In other news, the Giants are still not interested in Carlos Correia.

Ha ha ha! Phil Nevin needs to manage to a record over .500. Duh! Do the Angels have an elite rotation?

Willie Calhoun has a minor league deal with the Yankees. Jean Segura now has a two year deal with the Marlins.

Evan Longoria is going to the Diamondbacks for a year.

This MNFB needs to pull the plug on tonight’s game. How can the game continue, the Bills heads can’t be into playing football. I have never seen anything like this before. So sad really.

Want to bet on sports with your phone, find a bookie. You could fly or drive to Lost Wages or maybe go to a Reservation Casino or maybe with a friend for next game tix. Be creative in finding a way to lose your money, you don’t need to lose your dough to back East companies. There is aways racetracks and Poker clubs or card clubs. All these ideas employ people, even bookies have to pay the knee breakers.

Doesn’t matter really as the people have spoken and saved the taxpayers money. We don’t need to have Government make up new taxes, pay to help those who can’t afford the rent etc. or put you in rehab. So, to wrap up, there are still ways to lose your house if you think you really know sports.

No the Angels don’t have a eleet rotation sillies…..LOL!!! 😆 😂
Last year 80%er Nation thought we had THE MOSTEST AWESOMEST BULLPEN since the 1990 Cincinnati Reds “Nasty Boys” until Reid Detmer’s No No spelled doom to our season and THE GREAT JOSEPH MADDON. Don’t drink the same poison wine that Arya Stark served to mass poison House Frey again!!!

Yes, Virgina there is a Scrooge who is indeed anti-Angels. Yes, the Angels do have an elite starting staff. They not only have experience but are young and have talented and are not Rudy May or Andy Hassler types. If they stay healthy you may be the only one disappointed. It is easier to find fault and the Angels are easy targets certainly for you, but how would you have built this team? Is everything bad that the team does? Well at least some Guest agreed you have a point or maybe he just likes your muscles.

I don’t know or want to know how you ‘like’ your own comment, but it must be possible some way, but honestly, I would like to read how he would do things.
To just jibber jabber about how bad things or what could of happened and didn’t is just again, nonsensical jibber-jabber.

Legal betting in sports is good with me. There is nothing like having some action on the games to make it interesting. Not sure I would have dialed into the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl, if not laying a little bit in the game. Strictly my choice and nobody is forcing me to. Besides, offshore bookmakers as well as underground rings have always been there if one felt compelled to “get in on the action.” Not to mention big stakes fantasy leagues have taken hold since the 1980’s. If some other company and organization can profit from the legality, so what. Lots of football college preseason guides and the infamous, College Basketball Blue Ribbon book are produced to help the gamblers get an edge. Great guide btw. Just bet with your wallet and not with your heart.

I’m just against people taking government handouts to feed these types of habits but personal money, let freedom ring.

I’m all for people doing what ever they want short of hurting folks. Allowing people to hurt themselves and distribute their money out to the people who have figured out how to glean it from the fields of life is as human as sex and snacks. Let folks have their fun. Let state initiatives that fight and repair the damages of problem gambling, because some folks have too much fun, pay an army of shrinks and social workers. Let Draft Kings hire 1000 coders and 100 Lawyers. It’s the circle of life.

Just please, for the love of gah, fck off with all the ads on ads on ads on ads. It’s like dick pills…. but more constant. I actually watch less live sports because I honestly ask myself “how many GIT IN OWRN DEE ACTIAON! ads do I want to sit through and is this game worth it?”

No. Usually the answer is no.

Still remember Sunday, April 21, 2002 being in Vegas with the plan of the traditional “$100 Bet the Angels to win the WS”..and I passed out of anger..After watching the Sunday Night Baseball Game, another disappointing game in Oakland…Percy gave up 3 runs in a walk off bottom of the 9th loss…and I said “F it!!!” Not wasting my money this year!! We were 6-12 after that game.

Lots of good life lessons can be learned with some sweet action on a game…one that comes to mind is “life isn’t fair.” And winning is hard…life is hard.
Another skill developed is math. If I remember correctly the Angels were 75-1 to win the WS in 2002. 75 x $100 = $7,500.

Damn you Vegas!!!! F you stupid A’ss!!!

Lots of bad shit can happen to you in todays world. A lot of it is our own making. If you don’t learn very quickly after betting on sports, that with that pesky point spread, betting becomes mostly a coin flip. If gambling becomes a major problem in your life, you likely have other major issues that are the root of problem…….so don’t get all indignant about the evils of online gambling, or the Devils Den of LV…..Just say no, like Nancy Reagan told us about drugs. Get back to your Instagram, Tik Tok, dating Apps, Crypto Currency web sites, and leave gamblers alone.

Shout out to TCU money line winners and for the the Buckeyes covering the spread.

””””””””” Long live the underdogs in life, long live the Angels! “””””””””””””

Happy first Monday of 2023 everybody. A special shout out to JDL, JJ, JHW, CS (including as the legacy of Rev) and the rest of the staff at Crashing the Pearly Gates for all you do for this community each and everyday.

My wish is that we will all finally be rewarded with a return to Angels playoff baseball and the opportunity to put all of those evil unwashed arch rivals & marauders firmly in their proper places.

From the viewpoint of the owners and television advertising executives, allowing betting on all sports is a way to significantly increase interest and television viewership. This leads to bigger television contracts and, by extension, increased value of sports franchises. Just look at the NFL.

From the casino viewpoint, it’s 10s of millions of more people who lose their hard earned money betting on their platforms. So the casino executives love it and are promoting it big time.

As we all know, money is the real focus of all of these businesses. So, like it or not, legalization of betting on sports in all 50 states is coming.

Personally, I am against it. I’ve known too many folks who root against their ‘favorite team’ because they bet on the other team. I have seen ‘fans’ happy when their team loses and sad when they win. It’s not something I can identify with – but it is coming because of $$$$.

I had a friend that was a diehard Raiders fan. Every week he bet against them, so he won one way or the other. It drove him nuts when they lost, so he said winning money cushions the blow. He didn’t care if he bet and lost on them. He knew, in the end, he’d end up basically down the vig.
