Suggest we all listen in and see what Big Popi’s take is on the combined no-no

Yikes, that was brutal. Baseball is so fickle, juxtapose that with yesterday!

Well, that is a very muted celebration…

Should be, the win is more important than the other thingy

Yep. If you lose the series this achievement will be all but forgotten.

Fuck the Astros.

Come on, get a hit. Combined no-hitters are nonsense.

A no hitter here really shifts the momentum to Houston. Unfortunate, but true. Hate the Asstros.

Yep.

Amazing to think the Phillies go from scoring 7 runs and then get No Hit the next night.

Probably using some sort of “inverse trash can” here.

It’s really too bad that the Astros don’t have Brian Fuentes coming in to close

I wonder, if the Astros get a team No-Hitter do they still celebrate ?

As I recall, the Angels did in 1989 with Mike Witt.

Oh also in 2019 in the Skaggs game.

Yes, but this is a World Series game. I think that changes the mood.

BTW, the Astros already have two team No-Hitters I believe.

I know at least one came at Yankee Stadium…

Of course not … they have a fan on their board who will shame them for showing excitement as they still have 2 more games to win / unfinished business

Yeah, that is my thinking as well.

Not good mojo to celebrate before winning anything…

Fucking Verlander pitching tomorrow in Philly. Can you say, “Harper and Schwarber rockets?”

Didn’t Baker pull another starter who was up 5-0 and pitching great in a WS game? ! Trying to remember. Gave him the team ball etc.

With the way Javier has been pitching for the last 30+ days, I think Baker made a mistake not having Javier pitch Game 3 and having him come back Game 7. Dude has been filthy, for a while.

well that answers that

Baker is pulling the plug now in an attempt to bring him back as a back end arm if the series goes 7

Yep. That is exactly it.

Baker probably won’t not mind Javier giving up a quick hit in the 7th to make the pitching change easier

it’s all good for Dusty. If Javier doesn’t give up a hit then it’s likely an out. If he does give up a hit then, as you say, it’s easy to take him out

oh, I see. Javier has a no-hitter going

A no-hitter, you say? As in he hasn’t allowed a single hit?

Would be such a shame if anything happened to it.

No way he can get it — his pitch count is already too high.

No 2nd Coming of Don Larsen.

True.

Only the No-Hitter is still in play.

But Larsen’s feat is not only the only Perfect Game in WS history it is the only No Hitter. So there is that.
