Patrick Sandoval struck out nine Guardians in seven innings, allowing two hits and Mike Trout drove in three runs with an RBI double and a two-run home run. Cleveland was held scoreless for seventeen innings until plating one in the ninth off of Jimmy Herget. Raisel Iglesias got the final two outs for a Save in the 4-1 Angels victory.
Anthony Rendon regained his “Tony Two-Bags” nickname with two doubles and an amazing defensive gem mid-game to snag a scalding line drive and throw out whatever Guardian happened to hit it, I lost track. Trout was also thrown out at home plate late in the game on an amazing defensive relay by Cleveland after a double to CF by Jared Walsh.
The Angels are closing in on the number of games played matching what the Spring Training total would have been had there not been a lockout and the pitching looks to have passed the notorious dead-arm phase. This is a great development. Shohei Ohtani takes the mound tomorrow night in Anaheim and to warm up for his start he had a base hit and scored on the Trout double tonight. Light up that Halo!

Very solid 0 ERA
Save #4
Don’t get me wrong, im happy with the win
But I keep thinking what if we didn’t blow Saturday’s game. Would be a nice little 4 game streak, momentum going. Oh well
Go halos.
Can’t change it, but we can think positive about our winning tomorrow. We have Showtime starting, we are playing at home. We have Trouty and Rendon, Marsh, Stassi, Walsh and we have a real live Bullpen. We have the Winners.
FTFY
We have the Beef!
You win games that you should lose and lose games that you should win. That’s baseball and sports in general.
6-14. No Regerts.
So wonderful to not have the Negative Debbie Downers around tonight. They will return and just blow me away why people can only see the bad when there is so much good. Trout on a hot start, Sandoval has arrived, Ohtani is pitching great, and we know he can hit. Rendon is showing signs that he is coming back, Marsh, like Sandy, is showing he has arrived too. Ward worked hard for all these years and PTP and Joe saw last season that he was about ready and now he is very good. Adell is showing improvement every day. Pitching is getting better, and it seems Joe is more than lucky in the past week.
Maybe you are the “Debbie Downer” when it comes to our manager.
You seem to be implying he is lucky rather than good!
Don’t be so negative about Maddon!!
Glad you read my post and you are right as usual about what I wrote about Joe.
He’s Been Lucky for only 1,366 regular season times now.
Well, um, I can’t even make up shit to complain about after this one.
Any team with Herget on it is an embarrassment? Arte… cheap… evil?
Eh? It’s hard to go grump when you know there’s a shufflebot out their dancing somewhere.
Love the socks and weird wind up, just not the 92 mph meat balls he tosses over the middle too often.
Jumping on the Angels Win Train is happening every day. I have been on it since Opening Day and never gave up and still believe we will win the division. Yes I say every game we are going to win, but we have not had a team this good since 2009. 2014 was good, as a matter of fact led the American League in wins. 2009 was a real close knit team and closest since the 2002 team. This is Mike Trout’s team to lead with not just his baseball tools, but with leadership skills that he now has matured into. I said back in October Marsh was going to be a starter. I posted that he has the same skills as Mike has except power, which he will grow into. The team will go through a few little slumps and certainly will have winning streaks moving forward. Winning over 90 wins will be conceivable depending on injuries or lack of same. So what do see say, let’s have fun with this club and see where they take us. Jump on the win Train and tell all the folks and fans.
My pal Jesus and I bet a dollar on these two lizards who were fighting in our parking lot today. I was also right and I won a dollar. I could tell my lizard had grit because he was bustin some push ups before he entered the battle.
Patrick Sandoval is full on push up lizard.
I don’t have any guess’ on how many wins this team ends up with, but I do know wherever we end up it will be exciting. Power, Speed, Pitching and better than average defense will be exciting.
Happy for your dollar windfall, maybe you can win another tomorrow, if nothing else your billfold will be thicker.
The Lizard King? He can do anything.
Trout good.
Sandoval good.
Light it up baby
Very impressive outing from Sandoval. Didn’t expect only 1 run in 2 games from the Indiguards..
Not saying it will happen now, but I think this team could reel off an 8 to 11 game winning streak.
Came for the game, stayed for the shufflebot.
Now on a pace to win 99.
99 wins would be nice but that ain’t happening. 88-90 is more realistic..
well, you know I’d still be thrilled with 88-90
Did Manfred also change the number of games to 178?
Keep in mind they have arms developing and could make a deal. Plenty of upside.
Scream queen member but you aren’t the leader
And neither are you..
S-A-N-D-O-V-A-L ! Pouncing on last years success.

Sandoval is a stud. That maldonado trade is looking like an absolute steal.
Could someone refresh my memory who else we got for Maldonado? Or was it just Sandoval? Either way what a steal!
Stassi!
July 31, 2019 Houston Astros traded C Max Stassi to Los Angeles Angels for RF Raider Uceta and RF Rainier Rivas.
Yeah but Raider & Rainer had cool names.
I could have SWORN Sandy and Max came over in the same deal.
My bad!
July 26 2018. Los Angeles Angels traded C Martin Maldonado to Houston Astros for LHP Patrick Sandoval and Future Considerations.
Both trades were absolute steals. Good job on those Billy
At the time I really did not like the Maldonado trade, but it is one of those deals that pays off down the road.
The only question is if Sandy can stay healthy.
His stuff (particularly the change-up) is filthy and his mentality and disposition seem to be very strong.
I wonder what the future considerations ended up being. Anyone know?
Erica Weston > Alex Curry
No way
Erica for me too, she’s come onto the scene with a lead off triple.
I’m a brunette kinda guy
I’m talking her baseball knowledge and interview ability
sexist.
Ha!
Alex wins me over there as well.
Who is Torut?
For a dude with an impossible to spell last name I give you props on that one.
LOL!
What? It’s pronounced exactly the way it’s spelled. It’s just not spelled the way it’s pronounced!
&ct=g
Do the Sandoval Shuffle!!
can’t get enough of the toy zebra!
Yeah, I like it too!
Nice addition!
Late to the rec party — but I’ve got an excuse, just getting back from the game!
Let’s party!
Unbelievable show.
F*cked me up for a few days, not gonna lie.
Unbelievable show. Just incredible
If anyone invites me to a waffle party in the future I think I’ll pass.
Too busy playing with your finger traps
Shhhh…I’m only on episode 3.
I don’t plan on posting spoilers
It is really good..
For those of us who are clueless, what show?
Severance on Apple TV+
That was the definition of wheeling and dealing. This team is en fuego.
Angels Win!
