LA Angels Tuesday News Crash: World Series Bound

Here is Jo Adell’s good catch from Sunday. The title of this article suggests it is an upbeat article about the Angels young outfield but the first half of the article is actually a depressing review of Angels recent record with long term free agent contracts. When Shohei Ohtani connects he hits it hard. Not to be outdone, Trey Cabbage hit one even harder in a Trash Pandas game. Check it out! In the Fangraphs Staff Predictions somebody actually voted for the Angels to win the World Series.

The Mariners signed southpaw Nick Ramirez to a minor league contract. The Astros outrighted right hander Tyler Ivey. The Athletics claimed right hander Gabe Klobosits off waivers from the Nationals and outrighted Sam Selman to AAA Las Vegas. The Dodgers have been struggling. They lost their series against Colorado. It looks like the 2022 Joe Kelly Award goes to Keegan Thompson of the Cubs, who plunked Andrew McCutchen on Saturday.

Is anybody interested in buying the Nationals?

Twenty year old Roki Sasaki threw a perfect game over the weekend in which he struck out 19 batters.

Strange line up again, are we sure the contract is only thru ’22?

If this lefty is not that good why not start Walsh, he saves a lot of outs at 1b with the leather and quick reflexes.

Sandoval has a great change up, that will confuse the Marlins young lineup.

Oh and by the way, we are going to win tonight, I’ve been right on the mark 40% of the time so far, so bet the farm and go all in, you can trust me, if you can’t trust me who can you trust?………………….lol

And the Angels are 2-3, thus he’s right 40% of the time!

Walsh might be 1/2 off day..1/2 facing lefty.

Get Fletcher’s hip right…

Velazquez sucks horribly with the bat. this will not end well.

His glove is suspect too, but with the top of the lineup producing there are no worries. Besides you don’t like Fletch anyway because he can’t hit.

Right now he can’t but I think I’d rather watch Fletch play pepper with the right fielder.

Young LEFTY going tonight with a career 5.36 ERA and a WHIP of almost 1.50.
No worries…..We can hit this guy? Right?

Well, you know we don’t have a particularly good recent history with lefties.

Recent history?
I’d say lengthy history.

I have not looked really far back, but off the top of my head I would say the last 5 years at least have been pretty poor…

At least 5 years, might be longer. One of many constant problems we’ve had…….it’s called trAdition.

Nice outing by Lorenzen last night but it was the Marlins. We’ll see how he fairs next week vs. the ‘Stros.

Next week’s Trashstro rematch should feature Lorenzen on Monday, Sandy on Tuesday and Shohei on Wednesday. I like that lineup

You still need to perform against the teams you should beat.

Of course, but if you cannot beat the teams you should beat you are not going to beat the teams you need to beat, at least not with any degree of consistency.

All I was trying to convey is that celebrate the win and move on to the next one, you know, the game tonight. 😎

Looked awesome last night but he will need about 10+ starts before a real determination can be made on how effective he will be, No MLB history is available.

FWIW, several projection systems had the Angels and Marlins with identical or very close records coming into the season. Fangraphs still has them each projected for 82-80 seasons.

I would rather go 14-6. Can we pull that off by the end of the next homestand?

Hopefully Joe rolls out Adell and Marsh in the lineup again. Got to keep the confidence building.

So, we beat the Marlins one time after having lost three of four to an actual good team and we’re “World Series Bound”?
