LA Angels Wednesday News Crash: Not Nice

Good morning Angels fans, how are you today? Have some links.

Angels News

The Angels are in San Diego and avoided getting no no-ed. Going from losing to Texas to winning vs the Padres makes no sense but it is the Angels.

Good on you Adell!

Good news everyone, the Angels have some International signings sign! Good job Perry!

AAA and AA pitchers of the week? Angels. The future is looking good right now.

With Justin Upton on the IL, and Trout still out we have had glimpses of the Angels outfield of the future in Adell and Marsh. So how have they been doing? Marsh has had a great August with a not that good September thus far. Meanwhile Adell has been doing better every day, coming up clutch.

Around Baseball

The MLB HOF ceremony for 2 years worth is in just a few hours.

An arm is off the market, as Braves extend Charlie Morton. Angels really do need as many options available as possible.

The top teams in Baseball seem to be SF, Houston, and the White Sox. At least by being top 10 in 6 categories…

Angels make the chart somehow!

Bad take by Twitter. Trey is dealing with recovery from cancer on a terrible team in September. Yeah he tried to walk it back, but I don’t believe him. Trey for his part is glad that fans have his back when his is sore.

Some umps are better than others. Someone did the math.

deGrom is still injured. But he is healed? Maybe? Well I wouldn’t risk it.

Pete Alonso is the second fastest to 100 home runs. Angels and Mets really are alike…

Anything I missed? Post below for upvotes!

Giants, Brewers, TB all win without a lot of great hitting high profile position players.
Would our owner rather have our team since we have two of the top 3 most marketable stars in baseball ( Ohtani, and Trout, the other top star is Aaron Judge who’s at #2 ) or would he rather have one of those other 3 teams I mentioned. Those other 3 will probably win their divisions and have nameless faceless successful ( + 85 wins for all three ) records as opposed to our own. I think the former. 😭 😫

Not liking Ohtani being absent but the line up looks alright to me with the exception of Adell being a bit low.

Marsh batting second is interesting. There’s no place for Ohtani unless it’s the outfield.

Mayers is starting today’s game.

SAY IT AIN’T SO, JOE….!!!!

This means a committee of relief pitchers will be pitching today.

I hope they are mostly younger guys.

I would have preferred Joe giving a younger pitcher a chance to start. It may be too early for Junk to start. And even Criswell didn’t look good the last time out, I’m all for seeing someone new start the game.

Hence the definition of a bullpen game.

Bullpens are for teams that are inept at developing starting pitching.
Like Us!!!! We used to be good until 2010 happened…….

Uh Huh . Thats why inept teams like the Rays have utilized a ton of bullpen games the last few years.

He won’t be returning to the big club this year. He’s not a Rule 5 concern so I suspect he’ll be heading up the Bees rotation next year.

Yes, Criswell didn’t look sharp at all in his call up.

Hopefully, he continues developing.

Arte is a fascist piece of poop who only cares about buts in seats and hates winning. If he really cared and was smart like me he would have found a way to sign Charlie Morton. All he had to do was convince him that California is super close to Florida, or that his family sucks and he wants to avoid them for a few months a year. THEN all he had to do was sign Morton to a contract while he is still pitching for the Braves. But, once again, Arte just wasn’t willing to do what it takes because of narcissism and because he’s cheap.

Does anyone in the world have anything to be thankful for as long as self made billionaires like Arte own baseball teams instead of The People?

Not sure I would agree with that. I had a lawyer friend who used to work for the Donald. He was a pretty ruthless, self centered & racist man.

Yes but it is baked into my DNA not to agree with anything that 2002 bloviates about so I had to turn that post into an argument.(even technically we are in agreement- but please don’t tell him that)

Actually, this is super cool because 2002 either fell into the sar chasm himself or dickfaced his response so badly that it became sarcasm via pointlessness and THEN Cowboy fell into BOTH chasms. He was most likely crushed to a subatomic size immediately, passed through the event horizon, and came out the other side a soccer fan with an Arsenal scarf on.

If you mean the Green Bay Packers…. um, yeah. You should probably look into how much of “The People” actually own them. It’s kind of like refuring to the LA City Council as The People.

You’re forgetting Perry’s role in this. If he cared, he’d been on a plane and at Morton’s house.

Maybe his wife didn’t like our owner or Newport Beach.
Those wives, fiancés, and GF’s just hate us. Or maybe we made them a offer that we knew they could refuse!!!! Those damm failed offers did us in yet again. 😆 😥 💩

I don’t think Perry’s wife cared about signing Morton at all, which is also probably Arte’s fault.

Why is there a clenched up face emoji, a crying emoji and a poop for this? Does thinking about wives of east coast ballplayers remind you of the time not too long ago when you at a bunch of Legos? I don’t get it.

We will probably win tonight and get back to 500. This may be a record that is never broken. Maybe Joe could swap Rengifo with Adell tonight? Or put Adell at leadoff? That was a strange line up last night and I was not a fan of it.

Jo Adell earned himself a roster spot for next year with that knock last night. The Clutch-o-Meter went to eleven on that one. I have been rooting for Packy simply because anybody with a name that cool needs to be in MLB. That performance on the mound was all anybody could ask for. In front of pretty much the D-list lineup, he was masterful. Yeah, I know they won’t all be like that, but last night’s start wasn’t just out there, it was out there. Maybe we have some pitching after all.

After following AAA games & Angel games this year, its apparent to me that Jo can be pretty clutch in close & late ball games. He didn’t seem to display these traits last year during his extended debut. Maybe he needs to feed off the crowd and the energy of the moment to really get locked in. Something that wasn’t present in the empty stadiums last year. but its definitely fun to watch.

No Trade Jo!

I think, baring just catastrophic failure, Jo Adell is at least Joe Carter. That’s pretty good. If he gets his Ks down he’ll be even better.

many, like I do, remember only the highlights of Carter’s career. Overall he was a bit worse than Upton which means we forget that Upton was once pretty good.

Jo Adell the last 14 games (since Williamsport) : 54 PA’s .320/.370/.500 4 BB’s against only 8 SO’s. I’ll take that all day long.
