Shut out, at home, by the last place Rangers. Yeeesh. Can’t remember if this is number 11 or 12 on the season, of games where The Angels posted the goose egg.
again something that’s so blatantly wrong, you have to be worried about the long term success of this team. Mayfield 3rd behind Ohtani is seriously nuts. Unless they are trying to tank.
Barria’s love of the slider really bothers Mark Langston. He does better with fastballs inside and the change up according to Langston. Langston says that his slider just spins over the center of the plate.
Hey, Mark Langston was a great pitcher who could pitch and field his position. All around great athlete. (So was Tanana – who learned to pitched after his lost the zip on his fastball).
Langston is probably on to something.
Looking at the way Suarez pitched recently with the CG, MAN, his changeup was on fire. Must have thrown 50 – 60 changeups in great locations.
Then, blew hitters by with a well-placed 92 -93 4 seamer that was set up by the changeup.
In the last 2 – 3 years, Suarez has learned to pitch. Barria, despite his potential, is still in the woodshed…
Hopefully the team is looking at and showing him the numbers on each pitch. If the team isn’t doing this then that doesn’t bode well for the future at all!
I am so glad that we get to see Rengifo play as Michael Stefanic continues to do so well in SLC. We can certainly open up a spot on the 40 man roster with all of our bad pitchers taking up a spot.
I read a good story about him this weekend. He was undrafted and is now 25.
You just think that they would want to see what he can do but perhaps, they will just let him unprotected in the Rule 5 draft.
NFW some other team doesn’t take a flyer on Stefanic during a Rule 5 draft. he’s hit at every level with great plate discipline. I don’t know much about his defense but even if its average he’s gone if he’s exposed to a draft.
A split, a shutout, at home, against the last place rangers. UNACCEPTABLE!!

LIFELESS team.
The offense is anemic.
They have an offense?
Yes, and it’s offensive.
Hey, I’m all in for giving Captain Jack some playing time.
But batting third in the order behind Sho?
That’s zero protection.
I’d rather have Walsh behind Ohtani. Or even Stassi.

Good point.
Would still like to see the Halos finish strong with the young core.
Just turned the game on. We are making this pitcher look like Ryan or Koufax, for goodness’s sake. Come on, guys.
Halos offense recently has been either feast or famine, with a lot more famine than feasting.
It’s got to be, partially, the hitting coach and team approach to hitting.
When the game is between 2 teams with no hopes of competing the strike zone gets huge. Exhibit #1 that “strike 3” to Shohei.
Once again, we are making another team’s rookie pitcher look like Cy Young.
trAdition.
Not so nice AB, Pujols, I mean Marsh.
Nice AB, Adell.
Well at least the pitch count is low…

Damage minimized.
His shoe nicked the bag.
Go Halos!

Seems like Maddon wants to keep Fletch at second to get him that Gold Glove. And the 40 space is probably more concerning for next year.
Think I read on here that he is a rule 5 guy this offseason. If true they must not think enough of him to keep.

It’s below iirc
Oh. Yes, appears so.
Or they’re gambling with him as org depth. Remember we have Barreto too
Great point. Rengifo is playing out of position at SS. It is starting to piss me off that they haven’t brought up Stefanic for a trial.
I guess he’d slot in better at 3rd if he was called-up
I wouldn’t mind a few game with Stephanic at 3rd and Captain Jack at short.
Barria does well at home.
We will win tonight because it’s the Rangers and we are home. Captain Jack batting third, say what! Yup it’s the Captain for sure, 2 Homer night?
I’m not so sure cuz it’s the rangers, Barria is pitching and we suck pretty much. Remember the orioles?
