Blue Jays @ Angels 8/12/2021 Gamethread

It is dual wield Ohtani day, pitching and leading off is Shohei. Can be secure a sweep? Or will the Angels be under .500 going into a series with Houston? Can Springer just stop it already? Discuss…

Heard Maddon was going to let Marsh work things out, and get used to MLB pitching, but he looks really lost at the plate. You gotta wonder what this is doing to his head.

I think he is fighting change, it was said that there was work on stance and I saw nothing of any real change other than closing with right leg. Hands and bat still moving while hands still to high. But he did make a lot more contact tonight. He’s got talent and will be a good one.

I as well. I cannot recall too many rookies who flip the switch w/o going down and sorting some things out. Marsh has had 71 ABs, 32 strikeouts, only 2 extra base hits. I think he needs to go down. No disgrace, Trout went through it

Yes, one benefit of going down is that if he begins to make changes to his stance and approach at the plate he’ll be doing it in an environment where he has a comfort zone.

Trying to do that stuff at the Major League level while still adjusting to all the other elements of the game at that level is a tough task. Agree that a stint back at SLC could help him.

I was thinking that too. He might have been pressing, wanting extra bad to do well against the Angels, the team he grew up loving.

I appreciate pitchers with little time between pitches.

seems like the only guy outside Iglesias that can consistently locate his slider down and away to righties.

I have barely watched maybe an inning of this game, but tell me if I’m wrong in that this umps zone is all over the place?
