We’ve heard for a while that the AL East is one of the toughest divisions in baseball. Here we are, to face the Yankees and Rays seven times over the next seven days. For tonight’s game at the least, attention in Tampa Bay may be turned to the Lightning for their Game 7 rather than the Rays.
Also, can anyone explain the justification for playing Luis Rengifo in right field? Still?
Angels Lineup: Ohtani DH, Rengifo 9, Walsh 3, Rendon 5, Stassi 2, Ward 7, Iglesias 6, Lagares 8, Fletcher 4. Canning 1.
Rays Lineup: Díaz 5, Choi 3, Franco 6, Meadows DH, Margot 7, Wendle 4, Kiermaier 8, Mejía 2, Phillips 9. Kittredge 1.
They say they don’t want a rebuild, but they need to. Build off the couple they have locked up, and let all the free agents walk.
100% Agreed!
One team takes pitches out of the strike zone. The other can’t stop swinging at them. Guess which one wins.
well I guess that’s play like it’s 1985 when walks weren’t appreciated.
That was whelpy
And we lost by the hit batter bases loaded by Cishek…
There are a million stories of ways Angels lose games in the Naked City. And this was one of them.
Serious? I actually switched over to hockey for a stretch and missed how TB got their run.
I mean there were 2 walked batters and a ball dropped by Ward before, but still…they need to pick each other up. You can’t hit a batter to give them the free pass.
Tomorrow, let’s do it
We are falling too far behind to make it over 500…I sure hope so
They are 3 under now and 6 more to go on this trip where they may win what, maybe 1 game….. maybe.
WOW! Iggy chased at one 4 feet outside to end the game and our hopes.
wow….good eyes, gents
That’s all Folks!….
Steady diet of sliders to Ward
It ice that Matty wrote us off as a one-run game loser when we still had 2 outs left.
Matty V has a very easy voice to listen to but he feels like a mercenary and not really a Halo fan
I like Matt’s voice but still chose Terry and mark to listen to today. Best of all options IMO
Agree. I really enjoy Terry and Mark. They don’t feel compelled to talk every second between pitches.
well, Ward crossed me up. Instead of watching two good ones, then swinging at one outside the zone, he ended up swinging at *three* outside the zone. So I guess I was wrong in my prediction.
New nickname for Ward: “The Chaser”
Actually thats what Im drinking watching him play the outfield.
HEY-oh!
Not bad, let’s go with it.
Ward is horrible. Every now and then he runs into one, but he doesn’t hit for average, terrible defensively and has a horrible arm.
So: you’d take a cleaver to Ward?
If by that you mean, give him the axe, I say yes.
Ward is the Pretender
Are you serious Ward.
Again, 2 feet outside.
No upton, trout, a Rendon that’s never got going (in front of the fans) and a lackluster team other than Shohei… just wondering out loud how many more games I should be going to
Typical ward reach for a crap pitch.
Maybe if our payroll was a little closer to 75 million rather than 186 million, we’d be better.
The losing would be more acceptable.
Very true!
“Outlook not so good.”
Shyt.
Ouch
