Around baseball, the Owners had a vote on Monday for what the details would end up being in their proposal to the players association. The results will be discussed with the MLBPA Tuesday. Here is the latest information about the MLB position heading into the offer of a specific plan. Here is an overview of the MLB Players Association position heading into the day a specific plan is offered by Major League Baseball. Predictably, the players union opposes the owners will to renegotiate salary issues. Where do you stand on the topic of a universal designated hitter rule for 2020?
The test results are in and MLB employees had only a 0.7% infection rate when tested for COVID-19. Unfortunately, the Angels were in the top three teams for high rates of infection. The World Baseball Classic is going to be postponed for a couple of years, it appears.
Scott Boras is publicly advocating for baseball to return soon, as are most of the rest of us. Unlike us, though, Scott Boras has a duty not to place his own interests before those of the players he represents. At what point does seeking money for his clients morph into seeking money for himself? It will be interesting to see how he reacts if one or more of his clients refuses to play, leaving all that money on the table. And speaking of Boras getting paid, Matt Harvey is throwing bullpens and hoping to get an offer when the transaction freeze is lifted.
Andrelton Simmons and Didi Gregorius compete on Youtube to see which knows the most about the other. The recipe for pulled pork topped baby Dutch yellow potatoes.
other than Anthony Rendon, we didn’t do anything to better ourselves significantly.
were gonna half too hohpe that everybuddy els sucks.
Can someone explain to me the draft penalties for signing free agents? The Angels lose a 2nd for signing Rendon, but the Yankees only lose a fifth round pick for signing Cole.
The Athletic has a story about every teams biggest upgrade in team history.
The Angels is the non re signing of Texiera.
I’m fine with a DH for both leagues. If a pitcher can also hit well, then let him hit, if he can’t hit, use a DH.
I think it would make for much more consistent stats if everybody within the same regional division was playing the same game.
They have moved on from the model that would mix AL and NL teams, right? Now we are talking primarily playing within your league, and then interleague games with the same region – AL and NL West, for example, no?
I think that might be the way to look at it. They say our schedule will be against the AL West and the NL West but they also say that “the top team from each league gets a bye in the first round of the expanded playoffs.” The two leagues seem to remain separate or they would have just said “The two teams with the best record”
You mean to tell me we have to stomach watching Dylan Bundy pitch after all?
He could lose 14 games in half a season for us. Joe Blanton had 11 losses before July back in 2013.
ended up 2-14.
I stumbled on this Home Run Derby nugget — Hank Aaron v Al Kaline. If you want to see what Wrigley Field LA looked like, now’s your chance.
