LA Angels Thursday News Crash: Color Me Surprised, Not!

The pathetic findings and punishments for the Red Sox have been announced.  And here is Manfred’s summary of his findings.  The Red Sox are removing the “Interim” tag from Ron Roenicke’s title and he will be the 2020 Manager if the season ever actually happens.  OK.  So now Rob Manfred says he fully anticipates there will be baseball this year.  The MLB teams are attempting to reopen negotiations about player salaries while the MLBPA says “a deal’s a deal.”  The loophole is that the teams contend that the existing deal did not contemplate playing a season without fans in attendance.  The majority of MLB teams (including the Angels) will be paying their non-player employees through May this year.  Here is an article about ranking first basemen.  Albert Pujols did OK.  It’s tough to compete with the likes of Lou Gehrig.  Wally Joyner slipped in there at number 29.

sweet swings from MLB – they just had another list and picked Trout – no surprise there and can’t argue with that

two other guys i thought of that had a ‘sweet swing’: Bruce Bochte and Jim Edmonds

who else?

I always liked GA’s swing. Not quite as silky smooth as Griffey’s but not all that far behind either.

Those coloring pages are sweet. However, despite the running gag, Trout is not that fat.

So if Manfred is to be believed Alex Cora was integral to the sign stealing scheme in Houston in 2017 but completely unaware of the one in Boston in 2018.

Yeah, right.

Ranking first basemen – Wally is 29/30 because it was like the All-Star game – each team had to be represented. Pujols went to Cards and Carew to Minnesota (as they should).

This all comes back to Selig who rushed himself into the Hall of both Fame and Shame in his 20 running things. He is responsible for being the watchful eye to his masters in invigorating the sport back to prominence and the value of the franchises threw the roof. Never heard of a MLB value going down, lol, except maybe the Marlins.
Including steroid cheaters to be on any list is just disrespectful to the sport. CHEATERS! Delgado, McGuire, Palmeiro, Puljos, all used steroids and because the users helped MLB double attendance Bud Selig choose poorly by allowing these folks to continue their careers with no penalties. Heck Aod wants to be an owner with his and JLO buying in on the Mets.
It’s my contention that by allowing cheaters to skate there will be additional cheating down the road with no fear of consequence. MLB really needs to start thinking about how much the public trust comes in to play.

It is interesting that in both cases, MLB decided the managers really didn’t know what was going on. Hinch admitted to knowing in his MLB Radio interview. How on earth did Cora miss people running back and forth from the video room to get signals to the guy on second base? General anesthesia? Load of crap.

The Red Sox “punishment” is a total joke!

Sam Kennedy saying in “isolated incidents” is laughable. Of course, none of us are surprised that MLB dealt with their darling Red Sox so lightly. And you can be sure that dropping this little nugget on the eve of the NFL Draft was no accident. That way the story is sure to get lost in the massive post-draft media coverage. This was all very calculated.

Sickening.

I knew Manfred’s sorry ass wouldn’t punish them too hard.

l am aware that l sound like a trick pony show about Manfred, but he is just the an extension of his predecessor. Carry a big stick and yell at offenders like a mouse. He has no business being a commissioner of anything. As a lawyer, would you want him taking care of business for you and yours? Heck No l can hear the whole Glen shoot out. How can anybody who has this sport guide be so blatantly rouge in allowing cheating to go unpunished? The next person who is caught cheating can always refer to this scandal to point out such hard core punishment. This Commish is a weak hind tit sucker.
