LA Angels Tuesday News Crash – Analysis of Fantasy

Another analysis article that thinks the Angels are in the hunt for a wild card berth.  It was a little negative about Trout and Rendon, but was bullish on Ohtani and Upton.  I think the term “Fantasy Baseball” is kind of a redundancy at this point.  The only place besides Taiwan where baseball is getting played is in my fantasies.  This guy likes Mike Trout, at least.  Here is a trip down memory lane about how the Angels picked Mike Trout (as well as a few other memorable draft picks).  We gave up a draft pick over Brian Fuentes (grumble, grumble).  I am not sure if we have belabored the Mike Clevinger story enough.  Joe Maddon uses star power to help keep folks in his hometown safe from coronavirus.  Apparently, you can just kiss that money good bye.  No refunds for Dodgers/Angels tickets.

RIP Glenn Beckert.  I grew up watching this guy play with Don Kessinger, Ron Santo, and Joe Pepitone.  I miss those guys.  Oh great!  Just play in Arizona while it’s hotter than hell and then when it cools down go play at home.

I think I’m reading today’s articles in the proper order. Came here first to catch up on anything that might be being talked about. Next I’ll read about Carney and then I’ll get to the 2002 article which I’m sure will be great fun.

Announced today Manfred to take a 35% pay cut, nice of MLB to pay everyone during all this turmoil. It wasn’t easy but we received a refund for opening day tickets, I was amazed for sure as it was a ticket broker outfit that my son went through. l teased him that they would close shop with the dough and open next year under a different name.

You never know, they just might! I think I saw something earlier today that a major broker wouldn’t be refunding sold tickets for canceled games. Not sure which one.

Ticketmaster, and it applies to all MLB games. Which is unfortunate as they’re the official partner of MLB teams to sell tix…

Seems like the issue of refunding tickets will become a public relations disaster for MLB. Pretty sure there is a big class action suit in the works. I have two pairs of tickets for April and May that are obviously not going to be usable. Fortunately they aren’t too expensive, but I could use the money.

The season hasn’t been rescheduled, or cancelled, yet. You are going to have to wait to get their money.

Really, just wait, you don’t want to ask for it more than once. It would be a nightmare to try and squeeze the owners twice, or thrice.

Once this pandemic has passed, it will be full-employment time for criminal defense lawyers and civil lawyers in general. I’m not meaning anything cynical by saying that, by the way, just making a pretty safe prediction.

For now, however, I do kinda dig the relatively high level of co-operation and civic responsibility I’ve been seeing. I hope it continues for a while.

Friendly reminder that the Angels would’ve took Trout at 24 if that was their only first round pick! Landis and Bane had a spat over Trout’s signability, and that’s why Trout went 25, not 24. Not that it matters to anyone, anyways. 🙂
