Yahoo, we do not lose today. Strange though that they have Cron, Fletcher and Calhoun in that there lineup of theirs. So our Fletcher leads the team in Hits and Doubles last year and LaStella is our starter at 2b. With no LaStella at 1st management is saying that every 1b’man we have is better than Fletcher and even in RF Goodwin is better than Fletcher. This does not compute at all. A great fielder, does not strikeout, hits the ball, can play anywhere but catcher (l am not sure of that) and he can’t start. I just can’t figure this out at all. Well l don’t think the team decision makers are to bright if Fletch sits on the bench while others that are not as good play in front of him.
I don’t think Fletcher sits on the bench. I think he plays most days, while others get spells. He is our Zobrist (Maddon seems to like having such a player). The idea that he is playing some at the corner OF positions just keeps his bat in the lineup more. What I keep wondering is who that means will be playing at 1B when Pujols needs a rest – Walsh? Thaiss? Someone benefits with a spot on the 26-man if LaStella isn’t playing there on occasion. Also, likely means Rengifo is manning SS/2B in Utah.
