Jose Soriano versus Chris Sale. The lineups:
Inning 1
Jose Soriano gave up a homer to Drake Baldwin, the second batter of the game. 1-0 Braves. Matt Olson followed that up with a single past Neto. Soriano got out of the inning on a double play. For his own part, Zach Neto decided to hit one out to make it a 1-1 tie.
Inning 2
Soriano mowed the Braves down on eight pitches. Chris Sale struck out the side.
Inning 3
Again, Soriano mowed them down on eight pitches. Two strikeouts and a fly out later and the inning was over.
Inning 4
Now Soriano struck out the side. Jorge Soler was hit by a pitch. Jo Adell singled on a liner to right. Jeimer Candelario walked. The Angels had bases loaded with no outs. Logan O’Hoppe walked to drive in a run. 2-1 Angels.
Yoan Moncada was hit by a pitch to drive in another run. 3-1 Angels.
Bryce Teodosio singled to make it 4-1 Angels.
Zach Neto struck out.
Inning 5
The Braves went three up three down. Jorge Soler singled and Jo Adell homered. 6-1 Angels.
Strikeouts and line outs ruled the day after that.
Inning 6
The Braves went three up three down. So did the Angels.
Inning 7
Three up three down again for the Braves. Same for the Angels.
Inning 8
Mike Yastzremski singled. It led to nothing. Logan O’Hoppe was hit by a pitch in this inning. I guess that’s a thing now.
Inning 9
Chase Silseth came in to pitch for Jose Soriano. Mauricio Dubon homered to left. 6-2 Angels. Drake Baldwin got a one out single. Matt Olson grounded out to second. Austin Riley walked. Jordan Romano came in to pitch. Mike Yastzremski flied out to end the game. The Angels won 6-2.
