Trout 400 Postgame

All Righty then!

Nolan Schanuel homered in the top of the sixth inning to make it 2-0 Angels.

After a couple of Angel strikeouts in the seventh inning, Mike Trout hit his 400th homer to make it 3-0 Angels.

Yoan Moncada was promptly hit by a pitch. Taylor Ward was a;so hit by a pitch. There was a little conference. Jo Adell struck out.

Christian Moore singled in the ninth. Logan O’Hoppe walked. It led to nothing thanks to some strikeouts and groundouts. The Angels won 3-0.

11 hrs 52 rbis……THAT’S IT FOR A 1B
Steven Kwan has more RBIs while Tommy Edman has more HR’s
He’s not a core foundation piece player!!!

Not in 2002, no he isn’t. In 2025, he’s a contact hitter finishing his second year who should improve. No reason he cannot hit 20 HRs in 2026 or 2027. He should be able to drive in 75 also.

Personally, I think we need to give Schanny Singles 2-more years to see how he shakes out. Just want to see some more ABs under his belt to understand his limitations. There are many other spots on the roster to focus on.

So it is very nice as a fan of a team to watch a player spend his career in one Organization and achieve milestones. It’s very rare these days with players moving from team to team. So in that light, this is very satisfying as a fan of the Angels. We will have our first player in the HOF who was drafted by the team and spent his entire career (presumably) with the Angels.

That said, I doubt he will reach 500. I just don’t see him playing 5 more seasons- much less staying healthy or relevant during that time – to hit another 100 homeruns.

I think he easily makes the HOF based on his current credentials. I do not think another 100 homeruns will make any difference from that perspective.

Congrats to #27
However you’re going to retire with only one trip to postseason.
NOW ON TO OTHER THINGS. Jazz Chisholm wants a new and better contract BECAUSE HE SEES THE CURRENT LANDSCAPE AROUND MLB….SUDDENLY THERE’S A SHORTAGE OF GOOD THIRDBASEMEN. Kind of like I said that about catchers a few years ago until Cal Raleigh happened. Jazz Chisholm ain’t that damm good either, however his value has gone up because Alex Bregman, our own white elephant, Kris Bryant, Jose Ramirez, Matt Chapman, Rafael Devers, Justin Turner, are all old or retired.
BYE!!

Looking at Trout playing catch with the guy who caught 400 in shorts and a tshirt, he needs to lose muscle mass. There’s no need to hit 485 foot HRs. He needs to be more flexible and less injury prone. He just doesn’t have the body of a baseball player.

Congratulations the kid. Best Angel ever. Barely over Nolan Ryan

Oh, I was at Anaheim Stadium the night you got your first mlb hit. I had heard the great minor leaguer named Trout coming up. I remember it well, the most vivid memory is your all out hustle and blazing speed.

Congratulations Mike Trout! 400 homers is a great achievement. You are the best player in Angels history and someday will wear the Angels hat at Cooperstown. You’ve always hustled each game and each play and never have been into showboating as many players do. You brought positive news coverage about the Angels many times when the franchise was being legitimately criticized for consistent failures. Some day your sons will fully understand the immensity of your achievements, and they will be very proud you are their dad.

Here’s hoping future good health for you and many more homers!

400 career HOMERUNS is awesome and Trouty is headed to the Hall of Fame for sure and he did it all as a Halo. We salute you Mike as being the best ever to wear the Angels uniform. But damn man, only 485 feet. 😂 We love Mike

I like Mike too.
I’d rather have another championship banner flying at Anaheim Stadium however.

Congratulations Mr. Trout! It’s been a privilege to watch you play. Your work ethic and love of the game are inspiring. Seeing you play catch with the fan who caught #400 reinforces why so many people are your fans.

I look forward to seeing you hit #500 in an Angels uniform.

Entering Saturday’s matchup, Trout had just one home run in his previous 36 games.

“I enjoy playing this game,” Trout said. “Obviously, there’s going to be ups and downs. That’s part of it. It’s always going to be a grind. That’s what I love about it. You get humbled a little bit when you feel like you go out there and you have so much success and then you go through rough stretches. That’s what I’ve been going through. It’s good to finally get this milestone.”

It would not surprise me to see Mike go on a tear now that the milestone has been achieved.

That’s awesome, I’m going to look into this CHIME TV to see if it can be through a different provider. Thanks.

I have been to games in Japan. The crowds are insane. It is alot like crazy English soccer crowds or big time college football crowds.

Trout is shaking the hands of everyone in the family and signing stuff for everyone. What a class act.

Trout’ hopefully to 500 now. Quite a few players with 400+ not in hall, time to distance himself from them. Will get there if he can stay healthy.

If Trout can stay healthy enough to get 450 ABs (he’s now at 437 ABs in 124 games played), he should be able to get 100 more HRs in 5 years.

If he’s healthy from now until the end of his contract, I bet Trout gets to 505. That would be 1 more than Eddie Murray’s 504 HR.

He does have a chance, God willing, to match Mickey Mantle at 536. That would require 27-28 HR per year.

I fondly remember Trout’s early years, when OC Register website would have a daily table comparing Trout’s stats to Mantle’s stats through same number of games played.
That table got scuttled once Trout suffered all those injuries.

We are all Angels fans before anything else. But watching Michael Nelson Trout play for the last dozen years with no championship somehow almost made up for it.
