LA Angels Tuesday News Crash

Here are some results for how the postseason bracket is shaping up.

Former Angels Scouting Director Bobby Fontaine Jr. died at the age of 73.

The Mesa Solar Sox will be facing Glendale this evening at 6:30 PST.

Aroldis Chapman passed a physical and so his 2027 option has vested. Whatever is wrong with Roman Anthony’s hand, he is not expected to require off season surgery.

Let’s go Braves! Just think of all the child support payments that have a slightly better chance of actually being made if you knock the Dodgers out of the playoffs early! You can do it!

Here’s a question I’m sure hundreds of us are asking. Who is Ryland Zaborowski?

The answer, the position player prospect the angels sent to the AFL who is not Nimmala or Munroe. But wait, there’s more!

While our boy Ryland was hiding out in Rancho Guacamole and Western Washington he played 66 games and managed a .905 OPS. That’s pretty sick. He went to like seven colleges before being signed by our stupid front office as a UDFA from Georgia. He’s also got autism, so if he makes it to the bigs that can be what keys up the soft piano music for a while as the special insights and messages roll out. Some folks love that shit.

But more important than his autism to anyone who knows how to mind their own business is the fact that he’s a right handed hitting 1B in the AFL after one pro season. What this means is the Angels likely are determining what they have here. Should he start out at Tri-Cities next year or go to AA? How does that influence Nolan Schanuel, the worst draft pick ever? Do they try Ryland out in the OF too? He played OF and 3B in college.

Point being we may have a guy here who falls right between Munroe, who has no one blocking him really, and Nimmala who has Neto in his spot. By the end of next season we may find we have a replacement for Nolan, or a righty counterpart who can also fill in in LF. Or nothing.

Kids are fun. MOAR KIDZ!

Man, I am bummed. I had work, then I am moving so I did a bunch of that stuff, then band practice. I failed to prioritize what is important in life, thus I missed the Yankees/Rays game.

I can just imagine the constant camera cuts to the Yankees home dugout in Tampa Bay as 340M in luxury tax payroll sulks and stares into the middle distance with a gravitas, class and unmatched commitment to greatness that other fanbases in lesser parts of America just never get to see. The semi-casual leaning on railing, the disinterested spitting as yet another Majestic Sea Flappy Flap hits another lame base hit and moves over another runner whose name no one should know.

Cam Schlitter, who strikes me as a real asshole, must have looked like the rich kid that realizes he can’t just cut in line at Disneyland even if dad bought him and his friends special passes. The “competitiveness” that always makes him look like a red ass face must have been turned up to eleven as the Yankees incredible defense had more errors than the team had hits…. an incredible performance that only America’s greatest team could ever accomplish with such incredibleness. The Rays pitchers, you know, What’s His Name and Whoodat and Billy Waiverwire, had absolutely no right to beat the shit out of Cammy boy. I wish I could have seen his righteous fury on display.

And I’m left to wonder. Do they have a camera set up somewhere so they can cut to shots of Jeter every now and again? Or do they stay focused on Aaron Judges huge useless ass?

I know it’s not likely, the Yankees have bought themselves several good pitchers after all, but it would tickle my pink to no end if the Rays just got out there and swept the Yankees.

Rays/Brewers World Series. One of the best ever, with horrible ratings. A final fk you to the MLB for the whole “wildcard series on Peacock” bullshit before the strike starts. Let’s go gods of baseball!

To me, Jake has a “direct to the ball” swing. Similar to another 3rd baseman. That would be great if he continues to hit.

My opinion, a few of these are too expensive, at any price. Good guys, just not good MLB players.
