Interesting line up today. Assuming the team doesn’t want to lose 100 games. Everyone on the infield has Negative Runs Saved. All 5. Actually Peraza is -0-.

After 161 games you can’t go chasing wins.

I really trying to find a reason to watch the game without Trout. Since there’s no injury reported, I hope this is Suzuki’s last day as manager.

As bad as Gray Rod has been, Taylor Ward has been worse. In the pantheon of bad Minasian trades, this one is among the least bad. Still, a very low bar and I continue to experience Minasian-related PTSD.

Gabriel Moreno played as a DH last night and went 1-3, pushing him ahead of Arraez for the batting title. D-backs were getting smoked, so they removed him in the 9th for a pinch hitter and may not play today. The ol’ sore hamstring, wink-wink.

If he does not play, he wins the NL batting title. Ted Williams will be watching from above.

Didn’t the Halos do something similar with Alex Johnson?

The Backlash: Immediately after getting his second hit, manager Lefty Phillips removed Johnson for a pinch-runner. Fans and media—especially in Boston—criticized the move as a cowardly way to protect a razor-thin percentage lead rather than playing out the game. Johnson himself stated he did not consider the title a true victory.

haha – pissed off the Chowds. That’s AWESOME! OK, we had a valid reason at least. 😂

I believe you are correct sir. Also, when he was with the Rangers, he used a “canoe paddle” bat. To he would foul off strike after strike by holding the bat at a 45 degree angle. Marvelous bat control.

Just one more win, just one more win
Oh, it’s Sunday and wouldn’t it be a sin,
If the Angels couldn’t come away with,
Just one more win, just one more win,

Backs are up against that awfully cold wall,
Halos fans are with to play your all,
Great pitching and throw in a homer or two,
Win against mariners with the coming of Fall,

Just one more win, just one more win,
No time for 100 lost a record that’s a sin,
If the Angels couldn’t come away with,
Just one more win, just one more win.

We need an Angels win and the Astros and Mariners to both lose – so someone wins the West with a losing record.

Watching the end of Naked Gun right now.
So funny.
It’s against the Mariners.
And they say “Give a very warm Los Angeles welcome to Queen Elizabeth.” Not Anaheim. Maybe Arte was a fan of the movie.

I think I picked 49-113 before the season started. Someone’s gotta be closer than me. And what do they win? A case of audible raspberries?
