I actually thought they blew both calls. I thought both runners were safe.

That’s embarrassing if that stands.

Gawd, this line-up is impotent.

This offense is beyond pathetic. I’m tired of watching Neto striking out on pitches in the dirt and in the left hand batters box. There is really no offensive threat 1-9 on this team.

The overreacting about RJ after the first 2 innings 😂😂😂

He’s a perfect 5th starter

Not disagreeing but with 88 pitches in 5 innings, he needs to be more conservative, just like GRod, with his pitches. Asking the bullpen to cover 4 innings night after night will lead to mid-season problems.

He was fighting his command and managed to limit the damage early and get thru 5 giving up 1 run and 2 hits.

Yea we always want better, but this was a good outing for a young pitcher against a good team

Oh I don’t know. He’s only good if teams are chasing his slop. If he cannot harness his BB allowed, teams will get to him more often that not. Fine to keep him at 5 but we’ll see some dogs.

No, he’s not even close to an MLB caliber pitcher. The only reason he is playing is because our former GM had to find a way of coping when he and the owner let the best player in the game walk for free.

No other organization would have Johnson in the big leagues.

Low upside which is why I said 5th starter. He’s serviceable if not special

I’ll go with he was more lucky than good tonight. He could have easily given up 4 runs.

We have a lot of trouble with LH pitching for some reason.

Fortunate to be down only by 1-run with RJs control skills

of course Meck can bunt. What can’t he do?

Own the team.

legitimate question. Do teams still take fielding practice everyday before batting practice like they used to? When I’ve gone to games early I can’t remember seeing it like I did all the time growing up.

I know this will not help the defense but if the Angels still have hopes for Moore, put him in LF for the reminder of the year. He clearly, IMO, is not good on the dirt.

yea if his actions are this bad at a position he’s had ample experience at, something needs to change. Advincula is probably our 2b of the future. LF seems open.

I don’t think there is any reason to play Lowe, not likely to be tendered, even at a lofty $2.6M

yea he’s a 100% a non tender next year. He’s been so bad.

so we have the guy with nobody out not bunt and fail to get the guy to third, then we need an OF hit to get the guy in but we bunt. This team is so much fail.

Both the umpire and the players are missing a good game tonight.

Rada is not on the Angels 40 man, so with the labor dispute looming, he will not get a September call up.

That’s wise, let him keep hammering on the craft

Not positive but he may be Rule 5 draft eligible with 2026 being his 5th year in the minors.

and yet he’s by far our best OF defender this year. The Angels pitchers are a good deal better than their raw numbers would suggest pitching behind the horrid OF defense the Angels have put out there all year. Lowe, Trout and Adell are all negative WAR on outfield defense.

So even our announcers are noticing RJ is throwing like 4 or 5 mph slower than normal. There is no reason a guy should be pitching when his velocity is down like that. If he already isn’t injured this is a great way to make sure he will be.

Let’s go ahead and enter Suzuki’s post game quote in order to save time.

“It’s definitely tough, obviously,” manager Kurt Suzuki said. “But it is what it is. The game moves on, and you’ve got to turn the page, go to the next day, and prepare to win the next one.”
