Ryan Johnson gave up three runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Angels were then faced with the task of getting more than that, obviously. Jorge Soler contributed a couple of runs in the third inning.
A bloop single by Nolan Schanuel in the seventh inning scored Zach Neto from second base. The game was tied at three. Thank you Nolan. That was not embarrassing at all.
It didn’t matter. The Twins hit back to back doubles off Mitch Farris to make it 4-3 Twins. A single then drove another run to make it 5-3 Twins. The Angels turned their third double play of the game with the next batter, fortunately, because the next batter singled. So did the next. Mitch Farris was obviously imploding and he continued to pitch. An attempted steal led to a run down between first and second which led to the runner from third being gunned down trying to steal home base.
Woo-Suk Go came in to pitch for the Twins. I know you were all waiting for that moment. No further scoring that inning.
Jose Fermin came in to pitch. He was not very effective but there was no further scoring. I take it back. I guess that is effective.
The Angels failed to score in the ninth inning. They lost.
