Yeah, agree. First and second no outs, AND Witt due up…. Plus he homered in the 6th….. It feels like a bias against Angels that it wasn’t called earlier. The Royals have an off day tomorrow but the Angels still have to fly to Chicago tonight for tomorrow’s game…. The longer this goes it really screws us….
Knowing TrAdition, the game will resume and the Royals will cash in those base runners and then go on to take the lead and win. All because the frickin’ umps didn’t call the game like they would have for the Yankees or Red Sox or the Cubs.
I understand for this game right NOW… but in general we need an upgrade at closer…. we can’t afford another blown save. ASAP Bachman should be made closer, or at least remove Romano and go Closer by Committee…
Listening to Terry Smith is painful. He doesn’t stop his stories (which aren’t very interesting) so sometimes it’s about 30 seconds after the play is over before you find out what happens. Is he still watching road games on TV?
Of course Suzuki ruins Detmers start by leaving him in. If the umps are too stupid to suspend the game, at least stick in some useless fodder at the back on the pen. Goodness knows we’ve got plenty of that.
Suzuki is a dumbass…. Once it started to rain hard he should have pulled Detmers. Instead Reid’s ERA jumped back up to 4.28 after having been down to 3.74.
Does Fermin come out in the ninth
Who is our closer. Does suter come back out
Everyone sux in the blowpen
Zefferjahn. Boo
Royals tie or take the lead in the 7th…
Nice job only giving up one
Yeah, we were lucky there.
Someone explain this.
From Gameday:
One of the few games I can watch. Got tickets to 6/23, 7/3, 7/20 & 9/11 (away). Gotta get some may and August games in there.
The game getting called here would be a blessing because they’re on the cusp of totally blowing it.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised…
Pray for (Continuing) rain!

Haven’t been watching, but can we blame this inevitable collapse on Suzuki? Any objections?
I just have to say today is a day to celebrate !
We are finally free from suckass Romano !
There is a God !!
Lowe, with three knocks, on the road to .200?
.188
…and rising
Nice RBI single for Adell.
Romano was dfa’d today and so was Shaun Anderson
Wow ! Was he ? Please say you are not pulling my leg ???
Pulling your leg, he is not (Yoda).
The heaviest part of the rain is ducking under Kansas City. We’ll see.
I never had these anxiety attacks about the ends of games we were leading when Kenley was the closer…. alas Arte is a tightwad and a cheapskate.
Are they hoping Joyce can take the ball? Too early to open Grayson can.
Probably. He has done it before…
He has. The question is if he is healthy and ready to go. Yates and Grayson too.
So let’s see if I have this right-We torch elite pitchers, or pitchers having elite runs, and we get verklempt against pedestrian pitching?
Cripes! Let’s add on a few more runs.
Yes, otherwise the prospect of a Romano blown save looms…
Romano was dfa’d
Bachman is approaching on Stud Territory….
This organization is so stupid…. they have him pitching the 6th inning and Romano closing ….
TBF, we needed Bachman to stop the bleeding now. Detmers was on the ropes and getting his shit pushed in.
I understand for this game right NOW… but in general we need an upgrade at closer…. we can’t afford another blown save. ASAP Bachman should be made closer, or at least remove Romano and go Closer by Committee…
Romano was dfa’d today
Romano was dfa’d
Why do I not see this online ?
Okay, AI did confirm this.
Hallelujah !!!
We have been waiting for that for a long time, it seems.
Listening to Terry Smith is painful. He doesn’t stop his stories (which aren’t very interesting) so sometimes it’s about 30 seconds after the play is over before you find out what happens. Is he still watching road games on TV?
So true.
That’s what happens when the broadcasters are also watching the game on TV/monitors.
Too bad that Detmers fell off the barstool.
He still has the same issues. Too many pitches and too many runs from one bad inning.
I’m going to give him a pass today. There was a problem gripping the ball in the driving rain
`Agreed.
Which means he’s a mediocre, back end starter in the final analysis.
Of course Suzuki ruins Detmers start by leaving him in. If the umps are too stupid to suspend the game, at least stick in some useless fodder at the back on the pen. Goodness knows we’ve got plenty of that.
Yes, but I also think by wasting time for the new pitcher to come in you give the umps more time to consider stopping it…
Agreed. But now that it’s closer they are less likely to call it.
Suzuki is a dumbass…. Once it started to rain hard he should have pulled Detmers. Instead Reid’s ERA jumped back up to 4.28 after having been down to 3.74.
Certainly after he barely got out of the fifth. That was the time.
