Angels Lose 5-2

Welcome to Angels baseball, ladies and gentlemen.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases with two outs in the first inning but Reid Detmers managed to get out of the inning without giving up a run. Zach Neto committed an error. Nolan Schanuel got a hustle double and then Jorge Soler drove him in. 1-0 Angels.

Then Yoan Moncada struck out to end the inning. In the third inning, Vlad Guerrero Jr. homered to take the lead 2-1 Toronto In the bottom of the third inning Zach Neto walked and Mike Trout legged out an infield single. They then executed a double steal.

Nolan Schanuel hit a sacrifice fly to score Neto. 2-2 tie.

The game settled in for a couple of innings where nobody scored. The Angels did a great deal of striking out against Dylan Cease. Vlad Guerrero Jr. scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead 3-2.

Toronto got another run in the seventh inning to make it 4-2. In the top of the ninth inning a single, a passed ball, a sacrifice bunt, and a groundout gave the Blue Jays their fifth run. 5-2 Toronto.

The Angels struck out 18 times on their way to this loss.

Another week like Mike had against the Yankees is just around the corner. It will be a thing of beauty.

BOTG is Pineapple for jinxing things by stupidly predicting the Angels sweep.

Kinda happens every year at this point where I go to a lot of home games in April and it wanes as the year goes on.

The last 3 home games have been straight ass. I don’t even expect much when I go to a game (kids) but to put it simply these guys just DGAF. RISP, LOBs, Ks, shitty situational hitting and pitching,.

Anyway, save your money people. I’m headed to SD, SF and Washington in September to see the Angels but I might only make another home game or two (July 4th weekend and another family get together).

Gonna see the Halos in Phoenix in June, that might be it for the season if they play like this. Do have tickets for a game at Wrigley, one in Toronto, and one in Cincinnati later in the season. Fitting in a bunch of games around airplane museum visits.

No Halos games in Wrigley or Cincy remaining, so those must be another team.

Wish I could’ve made it to yesterday’s game to catch up with you Jim, would’ve been fun planning a trip out your way! I got the kids a MLB baseball journal they can start getting stamps in at every MLB park they go to. I’ll hold chase field separate until then.

I’m really not a baseball savant but the hitters tonight and my angle for the seats… too much guessing/leaning forward/momentum forward led to crappy ABs. Detmers battled, maybe I’m just predisposed to disliking Kurt’s bullpen usage so far/results/pitcher sucking in inopportune times but whatever. NFL schedules come out in a few weeks, I’ll get some tickets and that will take care of any desire to spend any money on these guys. Still eyeballing game 4 kings vs avs tix tho.

Draft is next week so that’ll occupy a day or two in our thoughts.
