On this day 50 years ago, Frank Tanana threw 13 shutout innings against the White Sox, a game the Angels won 3-0 in 16 innings, a no decision for Tanana. That was a meaningless game, Angels were in last place (sound familiar?) Yet Tanana was left in for 13 innings. It would be final win of year for Halos, they would lose next four games, including the final game of season where four A’s pitchers no hit the Angels. Halos finished season 72-90.

Last year it was the White Sox who kicked our butt at the end of the season. This year it looks like it will be the Rockies.If we want to judge the progress of our team, what better way than to line us up against historically bad ones.
