Beavers looking like they’ll force a game tomorrow. There’ll be a few of them across the country

Beavers with those three successful safety squeezes in the 2nd was mind blowing, USC looked off

“Ward, I think you were a little rough on the Beaver last night.”

Nice 8th inning rally by the Mountaineers, they’re in

Florida State squeaks it out – was looking dicey there for much of the game against a very strong Mississippi State team.

Would have been a drag not to see Arnold, Lodise, Williams in the late mix.

still lots and lots of college ball going on. Oregon State just scored 9 in the 6th to lead 14-2. But will they have anything left for their next game in an hour and a half?

Is it tonight? I thought the final with USC is Monday should Oregon State prevail (which looks likely).

That’s a hard one – I’ve been rooting for Ethan Hedges of USC, but would also like to see how Arquette and Turley post in Omaha, if they make it there.

they play tonight and if Oregon State wins then they’ll play again tomorrow. If USC wins tonight then, as you know, USC goes to a superregional.

Sorry to see Georgia Tech go down with their best hitter at the plate, Kyle Lodise. He watched two very hittable pitches come down the pipe, then swung through the last.

Was hoping to see the Lodise cousins match up on the way to Omaha, but ’tis not to be.

Silent C was / is / always has been a #4 or #5 starter at best with an ERA near 5. We should be happy with that from him until our depth improves.

As for the offense: can’t have 11 strikeouts and 6 total walks AND hits and expect to win when Silent C is pitching.

Same as it ever was.

The thing with Silent C is that it’s always just 1 bad inning with him….with the emphasis on bad. He shows early that he has the tools, but then runs into consistency problems. I think is issues are fixable, just not sure I would trust this staff with fixing them.

For those that watched, what was the deal with Koch today? Also, he’s been our worst starter thru 12 starts. Not good.

Trouty 1-1 with an RBI knock. Despite the negatives, he’s been statistically more productive on the RBI front than usual. Somehow.

Shows, despite skepticism from Angels coaching and the front office, that Trout can succeed as a DH. (And maybe hitting lower in the order is helping?)

Same thing that has hurt him all year. He can look like a top end starter to start, then has 1 bad inning and loses focus and control. Gave up a HR early in the 4th, then couldn’t locate his change up or fastball and it quickly turned into a 30 pitch inning. I think it’s all mental for him.

Lot of surprising takedowns of major NCAA teams this weekend – Vanderbilt, Oregon and Georgia already out – all top ten teams nationally.

Wright State and Murray State the Cinderella teams thus far.

The regionals were predicted to be unpredictable, as they say, and sure enough.

That Vandy defeat was crazy dramatic though – Wright State up four runs with two outs in the ninth, and then they walk the bases and Vandy cashed in three of them. RJ Austin hits it out to the warning track and Wright State takes down the #1 national seed on their own turf.

that was wild

that’s why Wright State wanted a complete game out of their starter.

And that starter came into the game with an ERA near 9, walked 6 guys to three Ks, and still pitched a one-hitter.

These regionals are crazy.

Marek Houston with a good game today, Not quite as good as Wehiwa Aloy last night. Something about Aloy’s bat I love, albeit with some swing and miss. The Aloy’s, good story coming from the Hawaiian Islands.

Hawaii has had good representation this year. Aiva Arquette is a Hawaii guy too, and Bodendorf from Oklahoma State was initially a Hawaii guy before transferring.

Marek is going to make some mid-first round team really happy with his glove and (I think) his hit tool.

Was not aware of the other two being from the Island. Let’s see if they can make a bigger dent in the MLB archives than Kolten and Keon Wong.
