LA Angels Monday News Crash: Lowest Pitch

Davis Daniel won the coveted Lowest Pitch of the Year award from the Pitching Ninja on a nice two-seamer coming in hot. Just look at that defense by O’Hoppe! He prevented that Texas clown from working a hit by pitch. Down in the AFL, Niko Kavadas won Offensive Player of the Year. In this stroll down memory lane, we have MLB MVP awards that went to the wrong player.

Hey! The Rays had interest in Travis d’Arnaud. Talk to us in July, dudes.

Kade Johnson brings back the spitball in a big way. Do not watch if you are eating! You have been warned.

The Dodgers pitchers just can’t stop having surgeries. This time it was Brusdar Graterol.

Former big league southpaw Don Ferrarese passed away at the age of 95.

Minor League Deals

Right-hander Nicholas Padilla got a minor league deal with the Phillies. Jose Barrero got his minor league deal with the Cardinals. Joe Jacques got his with the Dodgers. Aramis Garcia got his with the Diamondbacks. Donovan Walton to the Mets organization.

BTW, I will put myself in danger of out-grumping G-Pa, but:

In a sadistic way I hope that Juan Soto’s contract goes to an absolutely astronomical amount, eclipsing former Halo employee #17’s, and then shortly into it, Soto’s production becomes quite pedestrian and serves as a (Probably unheeded) warning to the moneybag teams.

BTW, I think we all already knew that Soto was not going to sign with the Dodgers. You can only defer so much salary, am I right?

“Angels Signed All-Star Free Agent Despite Interest From AL Contender”
I found out he was an all-star in 2022. That’s at least better than Hendricks being “world series winner” from 2016.

Great post, I hope Arte will ‘draft’ that Asahi import! Wonder if you can actually buy one of those.

I’d consider trying to combine it with a T-shirt Hot Dog cannon.

Oh yeah, such great service in Japan! Nama biru hitotsu onegaishimasu!

Here I was, hooking up with the Suntory Malts ononoko (girl). A half-inning after the Suntory whiskey girl stopped by. Nihon Daisuki!

My family plans on taking a trip to Japan in another 3 1/2 years for my son’s graduation. My wife is half Japanese, can’t speak Japanese, but speaks fairly fluent Spanish.

I told him the large “Orange Bang Slurpee” with the meatball sandwich from the heated plastic case next to the hotdogs on a treadmill, was a bad idea.

From the Monday morning Grump Stump;
So, here we go again as an article written about the wrong player receiving the NVP vote that was not deserving. One steroid user as opposed to another steroid user-who gives a hoot, really. Either one of 2012/2013 should have gone to Mike Trout, maybe both, instead of Caberra.

Does anybody care dept. The Mets are bidding against their selves in trying to sign Soto, who will win? Soto or Soto? The Yankees learned about this type of bidding that they invented with the Cole signing and they are refusing to play. Now that’s some funny stuff.

Speaking of the Rays, are they dumb? Playing outdoors in Central Florida in the outdoors while dealing with heat, humidity, and rain? There is not enough money for dealing with that stuff.

First snow that sticks came to the local SoCal Mtns this past weekend, 2-3 inch’s is all, but it also brought with it the cold temps, into the teens!

Have a fun day Angels fans. 😊

Rays are a sad case with no money for stadium repairs or players. Wondering if they are going to salary dump and try to trade Diaz and Lowe. They shipped off Randy to Jerry’s team last year so who knows who’s next.

I had the same take on those in the steroid era. Who had the best roids back then was a better measure of the candidates but that’s in the past and who cares?
as for Trout-Miggy… Definitely Trout was robbed by the idea that there is a triple crown in baseball stats. He was clearly better in overall, but I’ll admit that I was biased by the upcoming WAR stats while the voters were just starting to notice and take them in consideration. Clearly Tour should have gotten that one and arguably a fifth… and all without steroids.

I’m also interested in the Soto sweepstakes. As long as the Yankees don’t get him, I’ll be happy but emotionally, I’d like to see the Dodgers get him and go on to win two more WS. I know some people here would consider that heresy, but they are a SoCal team, and I’d like to see them show off the imbalance of MLB to the point where they actually do something about it.

As far as the MLB bigwigs are concerned, the Doyers are still a New York team.

I mean, what are the Rays supposed to do?
The league ultimately has the final say on where they will play. It’s much more complicated than just picking a better place to play.

It’s simple economics, they do not draw now, so why not move them to a market that would be better served even if it’s temporarily or even if it would be to sharing a stadium with an existing MLB team. Unless I miss my guess, playing baseball for 81 games in the Florida heat may thru September is going to do some harm to many players.

In regard to the Rays playing outside in the hot Florida environment-There goes their pennant hopes.

73 wins then, but even that is too high. O/U really should be 69 or 70, it’s really once again coming down to the team is just not ready to turn the corner just yet, maybe in 26 or ’27 and only if Trouty returns.
