Good game if you can appreciate a well-run team winning. Ohtani-Betts-Freeman-Hernandez-and so on, they can Pitch and hit and throw and run and field and won more games in the regular season than anyone else in MLB, crowd make a lot of noise too. Go L.A. and continue for 7 more wins against N.Y.C. teams. 😀

Had a chance to go tonight. Sitting in the car trying to get out of the parking lot. Thought we were safe from a Gibson moment.

I heard the Dodgers had pitching issues lol. 30+ consecutive scoreless.

Been quite a minute since I felt this playoff atmosphere. Every time Shohei put a drive on one it just felt different. The electricity of a good team.

Hope to experience this in Anaheim one day again.

Is it just me but the strike zone box is almost invisible and it is interfering with my enjoyment of these games on Fox, aside from tonight’s horrible result so far.

Yessiree. They are the best team in baseball and the Angels are a footnote at best. Ohtani is absolutely unbelievable. Only chance any other team has is pitching but it’s probably irrelevant.

Padres had the best team to beat them. This organization is definitely going to live off abusing the luxury tax and many more WS on the way. That’s what can happen in the only major sport without hard salary cap.

It’s sour grapes. They are among the best run/elite Organizations in baseball. We can only wish. They are not just about spending money – they scout/draft/develop in an elite manner. They don’t make many mistakes. I’ll admit it – I’m jealous.

And deferring $68 mil a year helps

Not to mention they have a separate television deal that generates $320 million+ per year and is not at risk. They generate huge guaranteed money and that is going to keep going up with Ohtani who will essentially pay for himself.

We had the same offer that was turned down. I’m happy for Ohtani being on a team that has a clue in the same market that he has always been in, as some know how to do it right.

We could’ve had a chance at Ohtani for $2 million a year but Arturo passed.

I know it’s the Dodgers, but how exactly are they abusing the luxury tax? Deferred compensation has been a part of contracts in baseball for a long time. The Angels could have abused the luxury tax in the very same manner had they agreed to Ohtani’s terms, without the mickey mouse personal services dodge they used with Grandpa.

Why did they get rid of the organ at Angel stadium? Listening to it during the broadcast makes me realize how much I miss it.

not just the Angels. 3 walks in a row and Smith swings at the first pitch for an out.
