August is almost over and the Angels still do not have 60 wins. It wasn’t a good stretch at all, and the Angels look terrible, losing game after game series after series. Can they eek out a win finally? Or will they be swept again? Jack Kochanowicz tried to right the ship by pitching a quality start! He went 6 shutout innings giving up 5 hits, but no walks while striking out 4. It was exactly what this team needed.
What was also needed was offense and for the first time in a long while, the Angels had it with enough runs to win finally. Neto broke out of his slump, and M-I-C-K-E-Y did something again! Rendon didn’t, but he is such a non entity at this point it would be a surprise if he did.
Highlighted Recap
Neither team scored until the 4th, when M-I-C-K-E-Y doubled in a run.
Then in the 5th, Neto hit his 20th home run of the year, becoming only the 2nd Angel SS to ever have a 20/20 season.
Things got scary in the 8th, and Ben Joyce was put in for a 4 out save with the bases loaded and 2 outs. He struck him out.
He got the save and the Angels finally won a game!
Upcoming
Weekend Series vs the Mariners and then it is Labor Day. Wait, really? Wow, this season is almost over. And on Sunday, the Angels will have their best pitching prospect make his MLB debut! Yeah I know, the Angels have a pitching prospect!
Any of you care to go to a game? It is Rev’s Birthday on the 28th. Who wants to come? We can get the good seats for a reasonable price due to how bad this team is. Anyone who wants to come respond to the top comment. We need a head count.
