Angels Blast Rangers 7-2

Can the Angels win a game again? I don’t know, but my gut says maybe. Well, what is the pitching matchup? Canning vs Lorenzen. We should have kept Lorenzen. Sigh… Oh well, how did Canning do? He went 4 and a third innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, striking out 3 and walking 2. Yeesh. And he left with the bases loaded. Shaking my head, Griffin Canning of the Angels.

At least Crouse came in and stranded all 3 runners. The bullpen in general was clutch, and salvaged a short start by Canning into something that was good enough to win the game. In the end, that is why they are there.

How about the offense? The hitters hit the ball with the bat goodly. Neto and Moniak especially did a good job as both hit home runs, and were responsible for 5/8 hits and all 6 RBI. Not bad for your 8 and 9 hitters. (Unlike Rendon, who went 0-5 with 3K)

The Angels struck first, well, the Rangers messed up first really, as a single AND an error gave the Angels the lead.

What wasn’t an error was a 3 run BOMB by M-I-C-K-E-Y

And in the 3rd, Neto doubled in a run… and then got thrown out because he tried to go to 3rd, while there was someone still at 3rd…

Too bad Canning gave up a home run of his own in the 5th.

The 7th also had a jam, and the bases were loaded again for the Rangers…

Still, only a 3 run lead seems scary. What if it were… bigger?

Estevez came in anyway, and the Angels won. NOT SWEPT!

Need not fear, the All Star Break is nearly here! Just 4 games vs the Mariners left and then we can rest for a bit. Good? Good. Oh that is when the draft is huh? Well, we have THAT to look forward to at least.
